Better or worse than Duce's? I saw Matt over commit a lot on the high screens. But any defensive liability should be made up by his offense and the fact he can make his free throws.

I'd be happy with him rebounding and not thinking he's a point guard.

Offensively he seems to have a nice touch around the rim.
Defensively he has slow feet and agree he over commits on screens. Reminds me how Abdou use to over play them.
Not much of a vertical jump and we will see if D1 taller and more athletic players pose a problem. There are players that just have that knack around the hoop even if there are not the most gifted athlete. He seems to have some of that.
BTW - we need to upgrade from Dusan and Abdou.

I'm for an upgrade. BUT, just a reminder, Dusan was #5 in rebounding in the Valley, and #5 in FG % (ahead of Krutwig in both categories). Abdou was #2 in the MVC in blocked shots.

Dusan also turned the ball over for a big and was porouse on defense.
Abdou could block shots and yet barely have any rebounds. In our system he had no real offensive presence except setting picks, an occasional 3 point shot, or a very occasional put back dunk. They were both role players in my mind.
If we cannot upgrade our front line we will continue to struggle mightly
