He has consulted analysts and come up with a way to break the system of the power 6 getting 80% of the At Large spots.

In the end, it wont matter because the selection committee will just change the metric that they admit teams on.

A 19 win ACC team will get in over a 27 win Valley team every time.

Not a big fan.

First, seems like the key thing is admitting you are a one bid league and just trying to get a slightly higher seed so maybe can win a game. May be ok for some leagues, but not for MVC who has sent multiple teams to final 4 recently. Our goal should be to do what it takes to get multiple bids. IMHO this doesn’t help.

Second, this is a short term gimic that P6 conferences could do better. A P6 conference could do this but instead of “podding” it this way, they pod it so that middle teams play weak teams at end of season to get their conference record over 500 and look better. We would all scream bloody murder.

I like the out of the box thinking but this doesn’t do much for me. Hopefully just having mark Adams on TV talking up mid majors will help.

Love that guy's hard work and endless research in efforts to promote mid-major basketball. He may be over the top while announcing but his heart is in it and he's a great advocate for programs like Illinois state.

I give him an "A" for effort, he is the energizer bunny. But this ... I would wait and see.

Cannibalizing more of your conference membership than not with the end result maybe being the top one bid conference automatic qualifier? Not to mention there is no guarantee that any of a conferences' top pod teams in mid-February end up winning the automatic bid come mid-March.

This has the same inherent problem BracketBuster did ... similar teams eliminating half of themselves by playing each other late in the season. It went away because the reward was no longer greater than the risk.

Nothing to lose convinces me it's worth a try and who wouldn't want to watch the 4 best teams play again at the end of the season?

Going to war seems a bit extreme. He’s trying to make himself relevant. Gregg is gone.

There is a way to fix this.

Start by eliminating any team from participating in March Madness that is not over .500 in their own conference. Or eliminate anyone under .500 from participating in their conference tournament.
That or give the regular season winner the auto bid.

If you are not .600 n conference you should not be allowed into the ncaa tournament. That's a minimum of 10-6 for 16 game leagues, 11-7 for 18 game leagues, and 12-8 for 20 game leagues. If you're 9-7, 10-8, or 11-9 or worse you don't deserve to be in the conversation.

How 'bout we make it simple. Unless you're undefeated, you can't play in the NCAA tourney. That should make it very easy to decide which teams deserve to be in the dance.

Several good ideas on making the tourney selection process fair and equitable.

But of course, the P5 does not want this. So ideas like these have no chance.

The P5's does not want the tourney to be about having the best, most deserving teams there.

Only a Jank team would have a chance to get in
