I've mentioned before I have season football tickets for Division III St. John's in Minnesota, where we have our cabin, and where Mrs. MadBird attended college at College of St. Benedict, the sister school to St. John's. It's pretty low key, and a great place to see a football game, and we have 50 yard line seats. That cost us about $75 per seat per season. And St. John's is almost always in the national playoff mix.

Anyway, some of you may have heard, this Saturday, St. John's takes on bitter rival St. Thomas at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. First football game ever played there (the Bison will play there next year). They are anticipating 30K plus for the game, which would almost double the current attendance record for a DIII game. Will have conference implications for sure, and almost certainly national playoff implications. So, its a big game.

We'll be there, altho we were a little late getting tickets - we had originally decided to skip the game, but some friends wanted to go, blah blah blah, so we ended up with end zone seats, but we'll be there. Should be quite the scene.

Both teams are nationally ranked. Both teams have DI transfers starting at QB. St. Thomas has a former U. of South Dakota RB who's a 230 lb. horse.

Here's a couple links if anyone is interested in reading a little more.

30K plus for a DivIII matchup? Makes me want to take a road trip!

Should be pretty festive, if the weather holds. Some talk of rain, but today's forecast at least seems to be holding off rain till mid game or later.

And I'm thinking adult beverages will be available, and Target Field has pretty good food too.

All in all, worth taking in.
