I think this aligns the with SLU for both to be in the Big East in the next 5 years. A lot of people on the internet feels this is a stepping stone and a temporary move. I am one of those folks.

nothing quite like drive-thru conferences

I don't see DePaul being eager to have LUC in the Big East

DePaul might not be eager but there might not be much they can do about it as they only possess one vote. The Big East will add St. Lou and Loyola in the next 2-4 years. By then, the Valley will have added SIU-E and UW-Mil to the mix. Awesome.

UT-Arl and UMKC...big deal. Has the Valley looked at UIC? Should help keep some travel budgets down as opposed to traveling to Texas. And UIC has decent academics.

I'd prefer UIC over UTA. Kansas City is also a huge no from me.

I am surprised.....but then also not surprised....that no one on this board has even remotely commented about how patheticly managed this conference is and how it is devoid of anything that would qualify as leadership. From the Commissioners office to the ADs and university presidents around the entire league. Savagely terrible.

The idea that people are commenting about whether UIC, Texas-Arlington or UM-KC would, or would not be, yeses or nos is unquestionably sad and pathetic.

We should seriously get rid of our basketball program and pour everything into football to get out of this godforsaken purgatory

This is bananas to me. How on earth are these teams just hip hopping from one conference to another? 8 years? I have shoes older than that. I have not looked it up, but our record in conf against Loyola is... not good. They twice bounced us from the tournament finals, too.

I'm always quick to remind people in some of these threads that the MVC and the MVFC aren't the same conference - but is it time to fix that? Would you rather have the 4 Dakotas for hoops and everything else or UTA, UMKC, etc. in the MVC? I say let's get one conference, can have divisions for hoops to accommodate the privates.

Or, and this runs counter to my previous thinking except it's to "save" hoops not football, let's go ahead and petition the MAC and get on with it. I'd rather be squaring up with the directional Michigans and Toledo and Ball St. etc. than UTA, UMKC, etc. (altho UMKC is in a pretty cool area, lots going on there).

ISU fans looking down on the merits of other programs inclusion in the MVC is comical. UTA or UMKC would immediately upgrade the MVC if they replaced ISU. Who are we to tell other programs they aren’t good enough. In case you haven’t noticed, ISU basketball is really BAD.

UMKC pounded Missouri last night. Not that they'd be a good addition.

That was one game. I remember beating Wichita St once too.

Just what the conference needs hyphenated satellite schools. I understand the options are limited but c’mon man...

University presidents at ISU, UNI, MSU need to be making some sort of alliance. Don’t worry about the privates and MVC worry about themselves.

What does 'not a good addition' mean to you?

C'mon man.
