Very well earned and good for ISU to lock her up two more years. She has turned the program around after two horrible coaches. I'm sure she won't be around much past this deal if she continues to get the team to be towards the top of the MVC, but that's ok.

I agree Gillespie has turned the program around and good for her and ISU women's basketball. But this extension only highlights the inability or unwillingness to fire Barb Smith after her second season and certainly should have been done after her 3rd season. Sure would have been nice to be relevant 3-4 years ago...but our administration didn't have the guts to fire her when it was obvious Smith was not a good coach and only led our program to the lowest it has ever been.
