UMASS. I really liked this kid, so it's kind of a bummer but I understand his choice. He didn't want to redshirt and Muller would've wanted him to.

Do you think he’s a Bird if he wasn’t being looked at by Muller to redshirt?

Between that and Ricky committing, yes. From everything I know, he wanted to be a Redbird but the final nail in the coffin was Ricky's commitment. Which confirms what we already knew, Muller feels comfortable with the guards he has on the roster.

Dan seems pretty high on Boyd and Horne who will be a sophomore and freshman respectfully. With two seniors in Copeland and Torres I can see why he would want Kolton to redshirt.

This is probably one of the most selfless commitment videos ever made. Best of luck to Kolton. Seems like a great kid.

That is what I was afraid of.

so Dan basically is gambling on a xfer getting immediate playing time for one season over taking a talented PG for four years..........smh. this will look especially bad if Torres is denied eligibility until '20-'21 and if Mitchell ends up making a solid impact as a freshman.

but at least one poster thinks this was smart and the right thing to do.

FWIW, Torres can still mentor Horne even tho he might not be eligible. It's not as ideal, but it's still possible.

I don’t think there aren’t plenty of good reasons to become a Redbird—ISU can sell itself. However, other programs have so many bad things that can be said honestly about our program.
Major one being absence of us on the national radar. We are 20+ years removed from a bid with no end in sight.
Thanks Muller! Yep UMass having 1 tournament appearance in the last 20 years put them over the top.
