That would be the theme for the rivalry game. Bradley is putrid, losing by over 20 a game, and had 4th quarter lead. But the Birds prevailed, and it’s one W just like winning by 50.

3-way tie with UNI and Missouri State for 1st. ISU lost to UNI, UNI lost to Belmont, and Missouri State lost to ISU. Drake, Murray State, Belmont, and SIU close behind. Next up is Belmont... interesting "travel partner" to go with Bradley. Probably because we only play Murray State at home this year.

So we are BU's travel partner. When you play your travel partner, that obviously messes up the rotation for that week. So since there are two teams we play once they just make the second one time team the travel partner duo to share that week with. So, we played BU, Murray St and Belmont (travel partners/rivals) played each other last night.

Now, we are going to Belmont, Murray St hosts Bradley next. Then, in a few weeks when we play Bradley again guess who we and BU play? Murray St comes to Normal and Belmont goes to Peoria.

Winning at Belmont on Sunday would really be a statement. It would finish up a 4 game stretch of road games, where every game has been close, but we would a WAY! Belmont got drilled pretty good Weds at Murray State, so they will be looking to bounce back.

Redbird women just beat pre-season favorite Belmont by 13, without league’s top scorer, Paige Robinson. Incredible performance by Mary Crompton, 7-13 from the 3. Wilson, Bullman, Stinson all terrific. Wong is a true PG, scores when needed, but none better in drawing defenders and passing out to her buddy Crompton.

Come out and watch these women, you will not be disappointed.

They weren't all that solid down the stretch with ball handling, but were able to put the ball in the basket enough to keep the margin decent.

Amazing the lead never got under 12 - totally outplayed - out coached Belmont and you only perceive that the margin of win was just decent. Our Lady Birds defended and rebounded for 40 minutes and defeated a very good Belmont team. Go Birds!!!!

Mary was clutch today. Hard to believe she got so many open looks with Paige out. Paige had a soft cast on left hand. I am no Dr., but it looked like it was imobolizing her tumb.
