Does anyone have an update on Jason at this point? I would love to get a commitment from this young man
during the summer months - guessing he waits till AAU is over to make a verbal.
He appears to be a key piece to getting our Swagger Back!

Only 1.5 years late 😅. Apparently, the Illini need a better crystal ball!

Too bad. Oh well, Rice’s waistline is 7’10. Keep on him. He’s the coke machine we need

He's an interesting recruit for the Illini and obviously they see something in him that other P5's don't. He also may be a young man who is willing to wait for his time to get on the court. Nevertheless, it's the one guy I wanted in the '24 class so I'm bummed today but the staff did share at the BloNo event last week we likely would NOT be getting any verbals in the near term. We are competing for kids that have a lot of interest and it sounds like this batch of kids want to wait a bit before making a commitment.

Judson did say they were really interested in several from the Chicago area so we'll see how it all shakes out.

Jakstys is a perfect example of a young man who if attending an ISU, he'd logically slot into minutes that KLew's departure will open up. Right - perfect fit for the young man. Some just believe they can play at that level and I wish him well.

ISU perfect fit? that is your view without knowing Jakstys' short and long term priorities/desires. agree with you that it is too bad we missed out. i really like the way Pedon and staff are out there recruiting. Will be interesting to see how they do recruiting if they can overhaul the losing/non-march madness image of ISU hoops.
