Lets take a look at our stuff dating from the 2008-9 hoops season looking at the teams we played 3 times.
08-09: Bad Evansville team (3-0)*, Creighton (2-1)*, Northern Iowa (0-3)
09-10: Indiana State (2-1)*, Wichita State (1-2)
10-11: Southern Illinois (1-2)
11-12: Northern Iowa (2-1)*, Wichita State (1-2)*, Creighton (0-3)
12-13: Northern Iowa (1-2)*, Wichita State (0-3)
13-14: Missouri State (1-2)
14-15: Evansville (3-0)*, Wichita State (1-2)*, Northern Iowa (0-3)
15-16: Indiana State (1-2)
16-17: Evansville (3-0), Southern Illinois (3-0), Wichita State (1-2)
*Won Tournament game*
So what does this mean. In the last 10 years, we have played 19 teams 3 times. There has been a season sweep 8 of those times, including the statistical anomaly of last season's 17-1 conference record. Without including last year as an outlier, there are 16 games and 6 sweeps. So, that example would favor the idea "it's hard to beat a team 3 times." So its either 58%/42% in favor of "its hard to beat a team 3 times" or its 62.5%/37.5%. If I had more time or ability I would look at the whole conference to see if this theme continues. The only opportunity we have with this list this year would be if we lost to both Drake and Loyola and then played both in the tournament.
As always, I'm not great at numbers so if I missed something here, I'm sure you'll let me know.

What you are showing here is every team ISU played 3 times in a season, including teams they were 1-1 against going into the 3rd game. This shows that in general it is hard to win 3 times. However, you only really start to hear "its hard to beat a team 3 times" when one of the teams is 2-0 going into the game. Out of the 19 games you listed, ISU was either 2-0 or 0-2 heading into the 3rd game 11 times (I have bolded these games above). ISU won all 4 games in which they were 2-0 and lost 4 out of the 7 games in which they were 0-2. That means that in the 11 games where a team had a chance to win a 3rd game, they won 8 times.
