ISU wins MVFC APR Award .. 3 straight Years

Go to class and do your school work fellas .. thats the only reason you get the privilege to play football at ISU .. not voce versa.

early signing day caught me by surprise .. but going to bump this thread for the benefit of our 19 newest Redbirds. Hopefully you came to ISU for 2 simple reasons ... play quality football and graduate. As to the latter of the 2, ISU has gone from last to first in Spacks 9 years at ISU. And have been 1st place for this academic achievement for 3 straight years. It basically measures each class in terms of staying eligible and graduating.

Hoping to make it 4 years in a row as top APR in the top rated football conference in all of FCS. The first 3 APR awards coincided with first 3 year playoff run in ISU's football history. Those are the standards at ISU.

So welcome to Redbird Nation. Be proud of YOUR school and the choice you have made ... oh, one more thing .... be ready to work !!!

bump one more time for our "official" signing day .. note to recruits .. be ready to work hard on the field, in the weight room, and in the class room.

next bump will be this summer when we win 4th straight as top MVFC team for this Academic APR award.

Note to recruits' parents ... ... at ISU, our kids win and graduate better than anyone in the best football conference in FCS by far, the MVFC.

p.s. though keep an eye on Missouri St .. they've been climbing like we did and are now up to 2nd place in MVFC.

and the beat goes on ... 50 ISU football players had 3.0 GPA or better during past fall season

If I'm not mistaken, Jake was announced as a 4.0 student last night at RBA when the halftime festivities included introduction of the Athletic Department Academic Honor Roll. So much for the privacy of academic information. [ LOL ]

Yes, there were several with 4.0 gpas and a whole bunch on the honor roll.

Just announced .. good news and not-as-good news for ISUr

ISUr returned to high water mark set 3 years ago at 972, but our 3 year reign as MVFC APR champs is over.

Despite matching our previous high, we fell to 3rd place this year. In 2013-14, we were also 972 and finished in 1st place by 10 points over UNI and by 17 points over 3rd place SDSU. Or put another way, SDSU was 955 in 2013-14 and finished 3rd .. improved to 958 this year yet fell to 8th place in MVFC ??? MVFC has improved considerably since 2013-14 .. so cudos to the best football conference in FCS !!
