No real surprise with the first week of other students back in town.

31 positives in 264 tests.

" According to Lyons, testing on the baseball, softball, golf, tennis and swimming teams produced no positives."

...so... football, MBB, WBB, VB, and soccer?

On the bright side, we won’t be too affected if there is no season this year since we are very young and won’t be beating out teams like Loyola and UNI this season.

H1N1 has a vaccine available. The loss of life could be substantially reduced if not for anti vaxing. let it go

Are some of you still hiding in your basement bunkers?

The NFL expressed confidence Monday in its testing program for the novel coronavirus after a weekend scare in which 77 positive tests turned out to be, according to the company running the program, "most likely false positive results" attributable to "an isolated contamination" in a New Jersey lab.

BTW, in 8 days, the NFL did 58,000+ tests. ZERO positives. The 77 were "false positives" by contamination.

--New CDC guidelines updated today:
If you have been in close contact (within 6 feet) of a person with a COVID-19 infection for at least 15 minutes but do not have symptoms:
You do not necessarily need a test unless you are a vulnerable individual or your health care provider or State or local public health officials recommend you take one.
If you do not have COVID-19 symptoms and have not been in close contact with someone known to have a COVID-19 infection:
You do not need a test.
If you are in a high COVID-19 transmission area and have attended a public or private gathering of more than 10 people (without widespread mask wearing or physical distancing):
You do not necessarily need a test unless you are a vulnerable individual or your health care provider or State or local public health officials recommend you take one.

I read the Panty article. I did not see where the people who tested positive were retested for confirmation.

Keep hiding in those basement bunkers!

Why can summer league kids sports play but finely tuned college athletes cannot? Surely the safety procedures in college are better than the traveling baseball leagues?

What? Now it comes out that the CDC had pressure to change it so less tests are done? Never. Never happen. Never ever.

Huh? The decision was discussed and approved by the covid task force made up of several government departments are the ones that wrote the policy. This is how a task force works. Not everyone will agree, but if most do, then that is how decisions are made.

Nothing is stopping you from getting a test if you feel like you need one.

Giroir is the Health and Human Services:
"Giroir said in the call that the updated CDC guidelines were written by multiple authors, adding that he, Fauci, Dr. Deborah Birx and Dr. Stephen Hahn, the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, worked on the updated guidelines."

Now, you read closer, it was a "Federal Health Official". There are many federal health officials. Also, yeah, it is coming from the top down because the task force is at the top!

BTW, are all Fall sports suspended from the NCAA?

Now, why would they do that?
It may have to do with people getting multiple tests. Each result counts as a positive. My wife's hair dresser got three positives tests in two days. It was counted as three separate positive tests.

counted by who?
Department of public health in sangamon county. She first went and got tested at their building then was told to get two more tests by them. After the third test she asked if there are records that show all of these tests belong to her. They said no and they would be counted as three separate positive cases.

Didn't a high ranking politician recently say that if less people got tested, we would have less positive tests?

Oh, and I forgot...bradley sucks!

I haven't got tested yet. I'm doing my part to keep those numbers low.
