I hope Brady can step his game up ! Personally I don't see that happening. Passing game was an Achilles hill even with him playing earlier in the season. I guess the sports editor of the vidette is seeing the same thing no progression. I wish ISU would allow ticket holders/players family to this Saturday's last scrimmage for fall season ! Sounds like the O-line is struggling.

The problem with practice stats is they don't mean much. Clearly, the defense is ahead of the offense. But unless you know who's going against who I don't take individual stats seriously

Well, so the half-full point of view is that the D line is really really good, even after losing some studs. O line might not be that bad, but not quite the measure of the really really good D line (and front 7 let's call it). But you have to think Himmelman, Megginson, and Bones are returning starters. And even Georgie? started some last year? That was a pretty good front last year and I'm gonna say they'll be solid come September. I mean, March!! ;)

Now, there's a few on here who weren't sold, or won't be sold, on Davis - not that we won't be pulling for him to have a great senior season. But if he's gonna make a statement, for cripes sake, start stating it!!

Proctor is sitting out this "spring"? How much different would it look with him lined up?

I'm reasonably optimistic at this point. Pass the kool aid!

I've watched both QB's throw the ball. I think we all have. And I know everyone loves the backup. That's football. But anyone who suggests #2 should be getting snaps over #1 don't know diddly.

We need our QB to get to the 60% completion pct. or beyond to be a great team. Can Davis get us there? I don't thhink anyone really knows the answer to that but almost everyone sees him as our best bet. We do know that we need our best offensive players on the field and healthy. We'll need to get Edgar back to 100% or very close to it. We need Himmelman to bolster a veteran offensive line.

One bright spot are the reports we've gotten on how well Davis has recovered from ACL surgery. "I plan to be a better athlete than before" he says. If Davis can effectively evade the rush with the occasional designed run it will add a much needed dimension to the offense. We've only seen glimpses of that thus far. If Himmelman departs at some point the ability to scramble effectively will go from optional to mandatory.

I was just looking through the roster cuz I haven't in a while. Doesn't it feel like Bryce Jefferson has been here like 4 years? Maybe it's 2020 that has seemed like 3 years in itself but man, whenever the torch is passed I hope the next guy up at QB is ready, whoever that may be. Cautiously, I'm not super concerned about the defense.

I hope Brady just destroys this season. One thing you cannot teach is experience, and Brady has A LOT of it. On paper, you'd think his experience would help out the young receiving core.

My personal take on Davis at QB, for whatever it's worth. He's a really good QB when it doesn't matter. Add pressure and he struggles. I want him to do well, but I just don't have confidence in him when the chips are down. And I wonder how much having James Robinson helped Davis . . .
