I don't know if anyone else posted this already but I just read it on the on-line Vidette. Long and short is stadiums can open with 20% capacity. Social distancing and you still have to wear masks inside the outdoor stadium. All this is still very fluid but look for next to nothing crowds at games ... if they take place. I will let you read the article for the details but 20% at Hancock is quoted as 2,678 fans. Tailgating will be prohibited totally. Same applies to the Illini game so expect if you still want to go, there will be many fewer seats. It does not affect me much here in Virginia but even if I was able to attend I would decline. I would not sit outside 6-8 feet from everyone wearing a mask for three-plus hours. That is everybody's individual decision of course but expect a very intimate experience if you decide to attend a Redbird game in person this fall. I don't know what the situation is in Illinois but here in Virginia, we move to Phase III on July 1st. Restaurants, bars, and such can be a full capacity inside and out. Barbershops, beauty salons, etc can accept walk-ins and not just appointments. Masks still are required to be worn inside (a lot of people are ignoring the Governor's order) but outside everywhere there is no order to wear masks. Stay safe my Illinois friends! Simply my own opinion but masks in an outside stadium is overkill. ISU has trouble drawing fans to the stadium anyway, I don't see this helping that very much!
Football attendance to be limited; tailgating is blocked
Gov. JB Pritzker announced on Monday that sports stadiums would be allowed to hold events at 20% capacity beginning when Phase 4 of Pritzker’s Restore Illinois plan goes into effect
