This not a grad transfer, but a straight transfer:

Dedric Boyd, 6-4/180, SG, Brownsville, TN (Eastern Kentucky) - Frosh: sit 1, play 3
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/dedric-boyd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBjS8OJWPVM&feature=youtu.be

Kid played on a really bad team in the OVC and I don't think their coach put any restraints on him. Coached canned at end of the season.

Averaged 13.2 ppg & 3.3 rpg in 27 minutes/game. Shot the most 3s (121) on the team, though he made only 28%. Overall shot 35%. Shot 83% from the line on 90 attempts. The video shows some talent, but the stats suggest a lack of discipline. Had 2.0 assists/game and 2.9 turnovers/game.

Awesome! Beautiful day in BloNo, and he's on campus with Ndiaye, our 2018 recruit to replace Dixon.

We have scholarships available. Romine isn’t getting one, and I imagine Ike and/or chastain probably isn’t either.

Scholarship players if things stay consistent with last season. Obviously I don't expect them to be the same but there's no concrete evidence of who is going to lose a scholarship. So:

1-Evans, 2-Fayne, 3-Milik, 4- Boogie, 5-Copeland, 6- Jefferson, 7-Williams, 8-Romine, 9-Bruninga, 10-Clarance, 11- Idowu, 12- Gassman, 13-Hein

WO: Chastain, Litwiller

So I'm not sure where people are getting the idea we have 2 available. Right now, we're even with scholarships. Like I said, I'm not naive enough to think somethings won't change but technically/officially we are offer scholarships we don't have to offer.

Goal for the visits this weekend: Get Boyd (guard/scoring help for when the seniors graduate) and Ndiaye (Freshman big man that has some guard skill, raw) to sign!

Well, Gassman was given a one year scholarship last year. Unless you’ve heard that has been extended to this year, there’s one.

I stand by my other claim.

Technically, every scholarship is for one year.

But okay, take Gassman off scholarship. That'd put us +1, not +2.

If there was nothing happening after year end meetings with players we could conclude we are sitting as is. That is not the case. Based on the recruiting activity of 2018 and transfer players, offers already made, and scheduled visits we are definitely recruiting at least one if not more recruits.

Some folks have mentioned sources but all of mine is pure speculation and conclusions draws based on public knowledge. To me the most likely scenario is Gassman's scholarship is not renewed. Others have offered up other plausible reasons why there may be a second one available.... Romine a walk on, Madison medical, or someone transferring. Dixon decomitting was a possible scenario that came to fruition. Based on a need of big and offers being made to guards I think Dan is trying to land two more recruits. I may be wrong or I may be right. We'll see.

Don't think this guy was on our list, but just for discussion sake, this guy signed with Marquette:

https://www.jsonline.com/story/spor...fer-guard-joseph-chartouny-fordham/537793002/
The Marquette men's basketball team landed some immediate help for its backcourt on Friday.

Coach Steve Wojciechowski secured a commitment from Fordham graduate transfer guard Joseph Chartouny. He is eligible to play next season. Chartouny was a three-year starter with the Rams, averaging 11.9 points, 5.2 assists, 5 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game

I think if he signs any more for next season it will have to be a very talented person that's clearly better than Gassman or Chastain. Right now, I'm not sure if Gassman or Chastain will get the slot freed by Dixon not coming, but I'm betting on Chastain.

Boyd just signed. 3 star guard. Transfer from Eastern Kentucky. There's the guard and I speculate a big to come

He'd be perfect to work with Rey and the would be a fearsome front court in 19-20. I'm assuming we go all in on him if we don't hear from N'diaye on Sunday.
