Antonio Reeves is getting noticed and some accolades

It says not available but I think the link is working

On yesterday's pod, @GaryParrishCBS & @MattNorlander said former @Redbird_MBB guard Antonio Reeves might be considered one of the ten best players in the country

I'm very happy for Antonio. I believe he represented Illinois State with class. Nice polite kid. JMO, and while he had one heck of a game this last wek, he simply is not one of the best 10 players in the country. Not even close. He won't get drafted. Could he eventually find a NBA roster? Perhaps down the road, but I don't think so. He'll definitely make some money overseas.

But will he make Kentucky money?

I've been following Antonio all year and seen many of the Kentucky games. I can't imagine how he could be rated this high on any list. I could see him being ranked as one of the top pure shooters in college basketball. He's 41% from 3 this year which is very impressive and he plays pretty good defense. He needs to add more strength/weight. So much needs to happen for him to advance to the next level but I'll be cheering him on. I do know that many people didn't feel he would play any more than a few minutes per game at Kentucky and completely dismissed his ability to be a key contributor. He's their 2nd leading scorer (13th in the SEC) only behind NBA prospect Oscar Tshiebwe. No one in the SEC made more 3 pointers than him (71 - ranking 6th overall) while shooting a higher percentage (41%). Alabama's Brandon Miller (will be a lottery pick pending his off court issues) was first with 92 made 3s and shot 40%.

Either way, from my perspective, I feel Antonio exceed most expectations of what he would accomplish at Kentucky (so far) and finished the regular season on a very high note. He has a promising future playing basketball somewhere.

Outside of Reeves that is very telling. Freeman was always good in the OVC but couldn’t step up in level. I think Josiah Strong battled some injuries too. Hope Sy recovers from his injury well and has a big year next year.

Strong has been out much of the year with an illness. Several around the organization, from what I've been able to see, expect him to get a medical redshirt and one more year if he wants it at CSU.

I also believe Howie had a season ending injury mid year.

I’m happy to see that with Strong, but also sad. Great kid and I’ll always be a fan. Hope he can call his college career on his own terms.
