Remember he was suspended before Supersectional game for fighting. Violating Athlete code of conduct was probably the reason he didn’t go to prom https://www.mysuburbanlife.com/2015/03/18/bolingbrook-boys-survive-supersectional-to-earn-first-state-berth/arb2oqa/?page=2

I know he left our team for undisclosed medical reasons but he was also suspended from the team for a couple of weeks due to violating team rules right before he transferred.

Roland Griffin has surfaced. He is listed as a senior on Jackson State's roster.

He didn't play last night but looks great in the NBA gear. I'm thinking its a long shot but these chances often allow his agent to leverage more overseas offers.

All types of good and bad reasons to be parting ways so who knows but I have my suspicions given he was a team cancer on high school, aau, Billikens and redbird teams. The coddling is over Milik. I hope Muller now realizes you can’t coddle 20+ year olds (jr, sr and rs sr years) as they are adults at that point and not kids. Milik will still have options but the hoops llife will likely end sooner than it should.

Curious. How did he coddle Milik? By not kicking him off the team? Some here complain Dan is too hard on players. Sincere question.

If Milik ever matures he'll have a long overseas career. Big big big IF.

There were many points in Milik's career which Dan could have kicked him off the team. Dan saw the talent and potential he had, and let him hang on. After his last hit & run incident, he should have been removed from the roster.

I don't know that he coddled him, but my theory is that Dan took on an almost fatherly relationship with Milik after his dad passed away. And I think that lead him to the mentality of he can't give up on Milik. I also think Milik could use some sessions with a sports psychologist/counselor. I think, much like Lofton, he is in his own head a lot and ends up being his own worst enemy.

coddled in that Milik was a serial offender as respects to violating various team rules and skirmishing with the law yet there was never any material consequences, IMO. I am all for given a player another chance to two or even maybe three but Milik just had way too many hall passes given his history elsewhere and esp as he became a senior member of the team.

I'd bet (and really hope) that Dan would kick Milik off the team if he could do it all over again. Kicking Milik off the Redbird team may have benefited Milik in the long run more than anyone. In the end no one may pay a bigger price than Dan as Dan should be on thin ice as respects to job security, IMO, and a few Dan Muller job securing seasons were wasted in large part due to Milik.

Agree he has the pure hoop talent to play a long time overseas but the Big "If" seems doubtful.

any insight into why it took this long for Phil to ink a deal?

No inside info but I would think it is in part due to his size. He plays like a traditional 5 man (center) but is the size of a stretch 4/big 3. He doesn't have the shooting ability to play these positions, or the size to guard a true 5 (see Fayne v Krutwig). That would be my thought.
