I just noticed the passing of former ISU assistant coach, and all time great HS coach, Ron Ferguson a week or so ago. Old timers will remember the great Thornridge teams of the early 70's which put him on the map, prior to his coming to ISU under Clean Gene Smithson. He eventually become AD at Bradley and by all accounts gets much of the credit for turning around their fortunes in the 80's and 90's. Much as we remember those heady days in the 70's with Doug the Jet, and then bringing in lots of other top talent, bringing in Coach Ferguson said a lot about how good things were then.
