Figure this deserves it's own thread unfortunately, given the fair weather nature of our fan base. But forecast improved a lot over night ... 2pm game time now has just 20% chance of rain , and same for rest of afternoon. Note, the morning is only 30 to 50% chance of rain now.

So it will be 80 degrees, cloudy, and just 20% chance of rain from 2pm to 6pm according to Accuweather. With the new turf, you can bet any morning rain will drain much better than prior years.

Let's go Redbird Nation ... firm up your plans at Hancock for 2pm game day ... MVFC home opener !!!

This is Good News!!1 I have been concerned - I am expecting around 200 for my tailgate - with about 190 saying "Only if it is not raining" - I have folks coming from as far North as Waukesha, WI and as far South as Jacksonville - very hopeful for no to little rain tomorrow. It can be gray skies - good with that all day long.

Really happy to see the forecast has shifted. It made it much easier to convince the wife to buy the Touchdown Terrace tickets this morning. See you all at Hancock!

Planning on stopping by Cindygate for sure. You can't miss me. I am a rather large individual.

I will do a little commercial for our tailgate as well The Peoria network of our Alumni Association will be there in the Redbird / Turner lot as well, close to Turner. Stop by and stay hi and grab something to eat. It's always great to entertain some of the great Redbirdfan posters :) Heck drop by Cindygate as well. I certainly will. GO YOU REDBIRDS!

Our tailgate is in the Ropp Lot - G83 - it is just North of the football field. ISU tent and a striped ISU Flag flies - we are close to the restroom facilities for a reason - usually directly across from the group that has the Redbird City trailor. We are featuring Italian Beef.

Tailgating weather looks to be okay. After 8 a.m. there is no more than a 45% chance of rain until 3 p.m. Then prepared to get wet! Chance of rain goes up to 65% at 3, 80% at 4, and 65% at 5.

Heavy rain hit Macomb at 10AM and resulted in flooded streets. This storm moved into the Peoria area at 11AM.

The one good thing is that there was no lightning. Just torrential rain and gusty winds.

I sat through the whole game in a short sleeve shirt. It started to sprinkle once, just enough that some put on rain gear but I didn't. Actually it was very sunny at times...enough that the lady in front of me bought a Redbird baseball cap.
The tailgate two hours earlier was another story. That was RAINY.

I was thinking of your forecast, well, crap, mine too, when we finally got settled under the water tower with the rain flying!!

We left Madison about 9am and never put the wipers on until about 10 miles out of LaSalle-Peru, drove thru heavy rain for about 20 miles, and then I-39 was dry almost all the way to Normal. Then after stopping at Avanti's, we pulled into the tailgate lot with rain coming down. But a look at the radar showed a "window" as we call it, and sure enough, by 1:30 we were in business. I took my sun glasses, and Mrs. MadBird told me I was nuts, but eventually she was moaning that she didn't bring hers, or a hat or brim.

TotalRed, sorry we didn't debrief after the game. Good to see ya.
