This may already be mentioned. Prolly in a thread I can’t see cuz it was started by someone I’m blocking, but . . . Fisher entered the transfer portal.

I must say I am somewhat surprised by this since I suspected he was finished with college ball but I wish he would have transferred back to ISU :)

All but well wishes for Keith and his future.

Four months can provide a lot of perspective (and overtures).

My guess is he has somehow found there are teams close(r) to home that are showing interest. He has now played in the Mountain West and Missouri Valley, be interesting to see what level he lands next.

So quit blocking fellow fans. So pathetic.

Maybe WCC. Loyola Marymount? Pepperdine? I imagine he'll pick a team with a decent chance to be good. They are 3rd and 4th respectively.

Let’s think about the Fisher timeline

he signs with isu - rbf begins their love affair.

he sits out a season but he cheers really loudly and claps a lot - Rbf says he’s the team leader and the positive voice, happy he yelled at Copeland on the bench during a game. Can’t wait for him to play because he will solve all the teams issues since fayne and milik were deemed not to have leadership qualities by rbf.

rbf poster compares him to Karl Malone, backtracks after criticism yet the kool aid drinkers are all in.

Fisher plays a season, shows a little promise to be an average to above average player. Rbf is estatic

fisher opts out to covid and his baby - rbf is very supportive but disappointed, will be used as the excuse all season for the poor performance

fisher enters transfer portal - rbf now hates him and believes he’s selfish and lied about his opt out reason.

this was fun!!!!

Playing loose with the facts. Historical revisionism. Also, assigning one or two comments by a poster here and there as the board’s position is weak. Using that method one could easily say: RBF wasn’t on board with him from the start because he came from a team that sucked, thought he would be the next Najeeb Echols, sucked all the season he played and didn’t deserve pre-season 3rd team MVC honors, was selfish for opting out, and is doing a great thing for ISU by leaving.

You’ve essentially taken comments about what Fisher could have added this season as the same as calling him a “savior”. You’re saying having a 10-13 ppg and 8-ish rpg guy wouldn’t have helped the team. Would it have turned us into a contender? No. Would it have helped in a game like last nite’s vs UNI? Yeah, could (emphasis on COULD) have made the difference between a W and the L we took. Having another athletic big would have helped all season, especially when Mahorcic struggled.

You’re right, when I used the term rbf, I was mainly referring to the kool aid crew who thinks everything isu does is always great. Anytime they sign a player, he’s awesome!! Many of that group was thrilled to sign Kotov for his sharpshooting. LOL.

if you expected Fisher to play the 5, then he wouldn’t help much this year. He’s undersized and we would have gotten killed in the paint/ on the boards just like last season. Who am I kidding that happened anyways. He’s not a big as you call him, he’s a forward who was forced to play the 5 because Dan recruited so poorly

Unless/until you agree with jammin 100%, you are drinking kool-aid.

Agree/Disagree with Jammin( what else is new), Fisher would have been better at the 5 than anyone we have this season(he was better at the 5 than anybody last year, but was wasted playing/defending the 5, when he would have brought so much more playing an actual power 4 position( which hasn’t existed in the Redbirds offensive scheme for 3 years). The staff had Rey(who has shown the ability to player 4/5 effectively at Tulsa) last year and they basically refused to play them both more than 20% of the time and never really changed the 4G offense to best accommodate those two players’ skills w/ on the floor together. Hell, this year, we put the 6’9” guy on the 3 point line, with 4 guards on the floor.

Some of it was recruiting, some of it was a system not putting players in position to succeed and finally we’ve now seen that 4/5’s have no reason to want to come here/stay because of the first two. I wish I could have said the $$ don’t matter last year or this, but HC should have at a minimum attempted to rescue the program by cleaning his own house after last season(and yes I understand loyalty-but that works both ways).

The lack of recognition after last season that things needed to change-even doubling down on the system that didn’t work last year shows me that they need to make a change. First, everybody says HC is a standup guy. You can say a contract is a contract, but plenty of people have renegotiated contracts when things weren’t working out and things aren’t working out for anybody so what Kind of reputation does HC want. Then the new AD has to get really creative with a contract for a new, untested D1 HC which means you are not getting a lower mid-major HC or a power 5 assistant. I think they say where there is a will, there is a way. Anybody know a miraculous DII program? Thats where our starting center was 2 years ago, how much worse can it get.

So 38 point & 17 rebounds this weekend in two games against one of the better 5’s in the conference (Phyfe) is not good enough for you?
17 points 23 Rebounds against Prim is not good enough for you? Do you even watch the games? Dusan is playing very good inspired basketball right now. Dusan & Fisher together would be a very difficult matchup for most teams in the Valley right now. The way DJ is shooting the ball would make the Birds a very difficult offense to stop.

Ok. Pump the brakes. Difficult offense to stop? This offense isn’t winning many games this year with Dusan playing inspired ball and it wasn’t winning many games last year because Fisher all of sudden got it going.

They win when they shoot lights out from the perimeter. And they have to because they play no defense.

We are 4-14 in the valley with Dusan as our primary big. And 5-13 last year with Fisher. I like the guys we got but know there is a lot that needs fixed with this team other than just plugging Fisher in there.

But your posts are so Pro Muller with some agenda that I don’t know how anyone can take you seriously.

Quite frankly, I don’t give a crap if you, or anyone else on this board takes me serious. Not on here to impress, just state facts. If you feel the need to just trash Dan, and the players, you probably would be better off finding another team to root for. This team, and coach can go 0-18, and they will still have my support. Sorry if that bothers you!

Whether Dan is or here or not...we need a starting Big! Mahorcic is a nice

Call it what you want. Stating the fact that change is needed! If you can’t see that- oh well!

Who is trashing players? Saying a guy has played decently, but it’s not translating to wins isn’t trashing. Saying someone like Boyd is in a slump isn’t trashing. Trashing would be questioning their heart or effort.

I will trash Dan’s coaching because it’s never been good. He’s as good as his assistants. The team has shown zero growth defensively. Switch to zone cause man wasn’t working early on. Never looked back, never really threw a wrinkle. Sure it’d be more active at times, but it was always the same.

Offense goes to shit the second shots stop falling. When passing is crisp and players are moving without the ball it can be pretty. The second they go cold all of that stops and it gets lazy.

Dan has shown time and time again he is not up to par X and O’s. He can’t really recruit all that well. That’s why in year 9 it was a talent reset after he had no more guys from Ford or Ward to live off. It’s time to make a change. It’s been time for 2 years. Find the money and get it done or enjoy 2,000 in attendance once Covid is over.

A serious question...after nine years what do you see in muller that, apparently, no one else does? I'll state facts myself:

9 years-No tournament.
9 years-No Valley tournament championship.
9 years-1 co-championship in Valley.
9 years-2-2 in NIT.
9 years-3 straight Thursday night appearances.
9 years-numerous defections, way too many to count blown second half double digit leads.

As I said before, I was thrilled when ISU hired Dan. I thought we had our man, but after 9 years its apparent ISU, larry lyons and a large number of us were wrong.

Exactly! Sometimes its just the little things (foul when up by 3 with 10 seconds to go). His strategy for most of the time here is throw up 3's and hope to outscore the other team...while playing a zone.
