I know where you're headed, but the bigger point is even if they're juniors, they still have to learn how to close out games together as a team. Sounds easy on the surface, isn't always easy when the rubber hits the road.
All Ik is time in school doesn’t make you experienced playing time does. Even with that said you still have to grow through a plethora of situations to gain that experience.

That's exactly what I was talking about. It's just like anything else in life. You don't know how a group is going to react to a given situation until they've experienced it. The biggest thing is to learn and not do the same things the next time they encounter those situations as a collective.

I totally agree. There will be some kids who will emerge as leaders as the games pile up. Overall this team will shoot it too good to not be in most games giving theirselves a chance to win. All fans have patients until a loss that’s all it takes for every fan base. Pedon is definitely building something here.

Lots of reasons you will see some inconsistencies at the beginning of this season. I don't have a crystal ball but I am expecting this team to play much better in January than November.

Its why it's hard to get excited about a recruit like Ty Pence. "He's ranked higher on Osiris was!" Ok...great...he'll be gone by the time he's a junior. Hooray.

I'll eat my hat if all 3 of our incoming recruits stay at ISU 4 years.
You're assuming Ty is 100% coming here. The buzzards are out looking for better fresh meat. Verbal commits mean very little today. Nothing against Ty. Great athlete, really good kid, family is full of athletic chops. I really hope he shows up.

For clarification, all 3 of our recruits are no longer verbal commitments, all have signed their LOI. Of course that too can always change but as I mentioned with the reasons above, I am not concerned about Ty.

Now, if Chase Walker loses a bunch of weight and dominates this upcoming season and Ohio State offers him a scholarship, or if Johnny Kinzinger has a breakout season causing Wisconsin to offer him, I wouldn't be as surprised if they didn't end up at ISU.

But I do believe coach Pedon is identifying certain intangible qualities in kids, at least what I have observed with this class that would suggest these kids see a real opportunity to come here and create something special, with significant leadership roles that they wouldn't be able to at other schools.

That's at least my hallucination that I'm sensing.

I like that hallucination. Was that shrooms or toads?

Thank you for correcting me. I forgot it's Nov. Still not 100% convinced. Not from Tyler's standpoint or intentions RIGHT NOW, necessarily. Just the domino effect of one school losing a player which could eventually lead to a player like Tyler getting gobbled...with an opportunity to make 40 or 50K a year vs almost nothing at ISU. (MAN this sounds disgusting to say) The domino effect is now a different kind of monster. Not trying to be negative just a bit realistic.

The next game in the Holiday tournament we played Cincinnati (I think) and they ran a similar back door play to beat us. Now there's irony. You are correct we started plummeting quickly after that
‘09 also plummeted a bit thanks to ice rink under Carver floor causing Champ to slip and wrench his back. Sometimes that’s just how the sneaker slips.

But the ‘CU doesn’t have the excuse of an ice rink underneath…

Yep, the game after that awesome victory against Creighton to start the season 14 - 0 ... I thought we would be dancing after that Creighton game.

OT game against UNI in MVC championship game still stings

I haven't communed with the toad yet although I understand the visions are profound. Definitely understand the concern about not ever really being able to count on what the future will hold. One thing that these good hallucinations can do is to invite you into a state of surrender and acceptance of what is, instead of being concerned about the things we cannot control. 🧘‍♂️

Hopefully they have us dancing by their Junior year.
