Well, I'm pretty underwhelmed by our recruits and targets so far -- BUT Minnesota just announced today a DII transfer, Duncan Robinson was a DIII transfer to Michigan a few years ago and is averaging double digits and 30 minutes per game in the NBA, Dusan started at Lewis and is getting looks from P5 schools. Just sayin'. There's a few waiting to be discovered out there.
Tend to agree. Baylor just signed a D2 kid last week. He had a transfer from Presbyterian last year. I'm not going to piss all over a kid just because of where he came from without at least watching him play.

There are D2 kids that can play at D1, however I have very little faith that Dan Muller finds the diamond in the rough that leads us to an MVC championship.

Underwood at IL signed DII Austin Hutcherson last year who will be eligible this year. So this is not a new or desperate phenomenon

With some players coaching actually matters. With my own eyes I have seen players get better under the instruction of better coaches. Who would have thunk a good coach can make a player better and reach his potential?

Your comment doesn't fit the narrative of this thread. ;)

Not many here would thunk it. The overriding sentiment regarding players is you can tell without any personal evaluation if they will ever be any good, and if they are unproductive as a freshmen we might as well jettison them

I mean most here can tell how good they are simply by the list of schools rumored to be recruiting them. Anything short of Duke and Kentucky, then they aren't good enough for ISU.

There wasn't a lot of returning players this year, but Horne, Reeves and somewhat Ndiaye (still small numbers though) had statistical jumps this year. Mahorcic had numbers every bit as good as his Juco numbers which is not typical. Would you put those improvements on the coaching or the players themselves? Boyd was one who did not statistically improve much.

While I get the point of your post, I do find it concerning when we lose a guy to Robert Morris. Then I see us battling Southern U and the Phillipines for another. This is all after Dan claims he’s just being SUPER SELECTIVE in who he is targeting. Ok I’m sorry if you’re targeting guys with those offer sheets, that’s just pathetic. It would be nice to see Dan battling with top tier mid majors at least, instead of teams who finish in the bottom 300+ in the country, which is likely where Dan has the program headed.

Also, can I point out that Dan finished 10th place with a P5 point guard (horne), a P5 center (Mahorahic who is getting multiple p5 offers) and a guy who’s testing NBA waters (Reeeves). If you finished 10th in the MVC with that talent, you must be canned. Just want to make sure thread stays on topic.

First paragraph: Dan sucks at recruiting.
Second paragraph: Dan can't do anything with all of the high end talent he has brought in.

Pick a lane.
