The Bison hang on 35-32.
wow, impressive showing by IW. Though Bison were down 16-0, before they woke up apparently and outscored them 32-16 the rest of way. but it still went down to wire with Bison getting last score to take lead around 8 min mark in Q4. Impressive that Bison was able to hang to win ... with the 3 pt lead against that offense when it was eventually playing with nothing to lose rest of way.

Interesting stats of game: Bison to IW

1st downs .. 15 Bison to 29 IW
Punts ... 3 to 7 *** edit *** 7 to 3
Pass Yds ... 5 to 282 ... yes, Bison QB was 1 of 12 for 5 yards
Rush Yds .. 328 to 257
Total Yds .. 333 to 539
TOs ... 1 to 2

Yet Bison won with slow start and it going down to wire.

And look at how Bison started this game with their offensive drive chart: first 7 drives went for 21 plays and just 7 total yards

The next/last 7 Bison drives went for 39 plays and 340 yards, ignoring last drive when they were taking knees. What a turn around, and entirely with with their run game.

IW offense was dominant to start on drives 1-2. Then Bison defense settled down for drives 3 thru 9. But then IW started moving the ball again their last 5 drives. They came to play and faired well. Bison dodged a bullet.

I thought IW coach started chasing points way too soon. Down 2 early 4Q(?) went for 2 to tie didn’t get it. Because they didn’t get the 1 point, it forced NDSU to go for 2 later (and they got it). Then late in game (2mins left) short FG would have tied for IW they went for win and didn’t get it. Had they kicked their XP 10 mins earlier, May have been very different.

SDSU v. NDSU rematch for the title. It will be interesting to watch. I think SDSU has the better team this year but NDSU has playoff magic. The Bison just always seem to find a way to win in the playoffs. They know each other well. I am expecting a good game.
This ! You just never know how game will go. By all accounts, SDSU is the better team ... I lean towards SDSU because they do a lot well.

SDSU going to win .. but HC held their own. Its 41-21 .. but the game was closer than score.
I watched the semi-final games and most of the quarterfinals. I would rank the top six teams as 1) SDSU 2) NDSU 3) Incarnate W 4) Montana St.
5) Sacramento St. 6) Holy Cross. After that it drops off. I would put Samford #7, but this year's playoffs had 6 contenders and 18 pretenders.

One thing I noticed about the top 6. They all have QBs that can really run. That really limits the backside pursuit and it can freeze the LB'ers as they have to watch the exchange closely to see if it actually takes place. Annexstad has some rushing ability but he's not in the same class as the QBs of the top 6. He does have a very good arm. If we could combine Annexstad's arm with Rittenhouse's running ability we would have a hell of a QB.

Bisons are getting kicked in the groin in first half, 28-7 and counting. Of course, it's never over till it's over with them, as we know. Looks like a t-shirt kinda day in Frisco too.

I don't know what they have had in the past with the game on Saturday, but the lack of a pregame show was pathetic. If ABC has the time slot open for the 30 minutes prior to the *FCS National Championship*, they need to be previewing the game. I don't know if it was ABC, the FCS, the NCAA or all of the above, but it was sad. They had a FBS National Championship preview show instead and didn't even acknowledge the FCS game that was to be played afterwards. I think it was a recorded show that probably already aired, but it was a huge missed opportunity to promote the FCS brand. The demographic that would be watching the FBS National Championship preview show likely was preoccupied watching the NFL games anyhow.

Half time was just about all minor league for pro football also. I guess they believe everyone from the Dakotas are in Frisco.

Of course on the other side of the scales, the average large city college football fan probably could not find the Dakotas on a map.

They sure showed good today - the better team won. Damn crime that the winning QB is from Naperville, and the "star" d-back is from North Chicago. Starting LB from Zion. Starting safety from Yorkville. Guess we can't get 'em all.

I was really impressed by the Jackrabbit O-Line. SDSU had time to pass and holes to run through. I've never seen anyone control the Bison D-front like that. The Jacks could have hung 50 on them if they wanted to.

I wish I was in Frisco; I mean Brookings South, to help the Jacks celebrate the beatdown of the Bison. I'm sure it will be a wild night. Horns down, Bunny Ears Up.

Disney/ABC/ESPN runs the show. They do whatever they want. They don't really care about anything else.

I was very impressed by the Illinois talent. Of course I knew about Gronowski, but they really have done a great job recruiting our state. 4 (almost 5) of their touchdowns involved 1 or more players from Illinois. Gronowski (Neuqua Valley) had 3 passing and 1 rushing TD. Michael Morgan (Lincoln-Way Central) had a receiving touchdown. Amar Johnson (Chamindae College Prep) also had a rushing touchdown not quite from Illinois but the St. Louis area has brought some good talent to ISU. DyShawn Gales (North Chicago) had an interception in the fourth quarter. Even one of their backup QBs is from Naperville North.

Not sure which of these players we recruited or would have fit our system but interesting nonetheless. I know we flipped a couple of their recruits (don't know the reason) so our recruiting oftentimes overlaps. They recruit the midwest incredibly well. Quite the program.
