Jayden Johnson could be on a D1 scholarship somewhere. Any time he’s been given a chance, he makes plays. He was the highlight back at hoopfest and showed tonight that he can play some. Evansville is awful. If they don’t win Sunday, they might go 0-18.
Jayden had 9 points in 5 minutes. If Muller had played him the whole game, he would have scored 72 points.

Nice to get a win in that manner. I was shocked by how bad Evansville was. There was absolutely no effort in the second half from them. What a dumpster fire. Need to take care of business on Sunday against this team. Will put us in a good position going into the Drake game.

I think Jayden Johnson is the best shooter on the team. Glad he got some playing time and was able to hit a few shots tonight.

I believe smallest crowd at Redbird for a D1 game I‘ve witnessed that wasn’t a blizzard. Evansville played worst game played by MVC team that I can recall

It felt like EU coaching staff had just given up on the players from the start of the game and the players weren’t far behind. I looked over at the bench during ISU runs expecting them to to try and change up and there was basically no reaction from the staff, no time out, no direction to players, no substitution, just kind of a shrug of the shoulders. By the 2nd half, the players were doing the same thing, just kind of shrugging off getting beat or not getting a shot off.

There was a shot on TV of Lickliter with his face buried in his hands. They showed the staff multiple times and it did look like they had given up.

Funny how the 'birds went from a Wednesday night game where it took very little to get a foul called (36, plus 3 technicals) to last night where whistles were virtually non-existent (13, plus one technical). It almost seemed like the officials just wanted to wrap it up quickly and get to today's assignment (been a long time since we had a one hour, thirty-three minute game).

While good stat lines are easy to find in the boxscore on nights like this, my favorite is Flemming Jr.
FG: 5 - 7
Reb: 5
Assts: 4
TO: 0

Always doing something good while he was on the floor.
He is really coming into his own this week. We have some young guys with a lot of potential. McChesney, Fleming and Washington are three nice players to build around.

10 minutes before the game it was dead empty ... maybe 750. You had the usual Legends room crowd that came shortly afterwards. However people were still coming into the game 5 minutes after the game started. I assume the 6:00 start had something to do with it. The attendance (while poor historically) was about par for this year and better than what I would have guessed 10 minutes prior to the start.

ISU counts actual people that attended vs tickets sold so the number is realistic.

I think student are back on campus starting Monday so hopefully that will help. I believe everything was remote learning the first two weeks.
