I was able to go to Metamora's game vs Bradley-Bourbonnais and Iowa commit (and Kizer's AAU teammate), Owen Freeman. Kizer had a career high 33 points and won tournament MVP for the round robin Metamora hosts. I believe he had 7 3 pointers on probably like 12 attempts. He was shooting lights out. A lot of them were contested 3s too. He really elevates on his shots and does not seem fazed at all when they are contested.

He usually isn't the leading scorer for Metamora, but it was a heck of a game for him and fun to watch. If he can shoot it like that and make the energy highlight plays he tends to make he could see himself with some bigger offers coming in.

See any coaches there? ISU or otherwise?
I don't think there were any. I was keeping an eye out but didn't see any. I watched Kizer for a little bit after the game to see who he talked to, but as of the time I left, he had only talked to Owen Freeman and then a reporter. I definitely would've noticed an ISU coach, so I bet they were all in Evansville at that point.

I've seen this kid play a couple of times. I didn't realize he was so young. He matched up with Cleveland a couple times against NCHS. Fun games for sure. His bounce reminds me of Chastain in HS.
I agree. He reminds me of Chastain. That's not a good thing.

I’ve only seen limited action of Kizer, but he seems to have a better shot than Chastain. Not all white dudes with long hair are the same.

I’ve seen him play several times. I would call him streaky. Saw a game where he missed probably 8 threes and came out the next game and scored 25+ and didn’t miss a three. Hopefully he can develops a little more consistency shooting the 3 ball. Athletic ability is there. Will be an interesting watch to see how he develops.

Admittedly, having not seen him until this weekend, it's a small sample size; but if he was MVC caliber, he would have had a lot mire touches late in the game. It wasn't even clear that he was the best player on Metamora

I feel for Metamora. They had every chance to win the game. The coach needed to use his timeouts down the stretch. I believe he had 3 with 1.5 minutes to go and didn’t use them when his team was out of whack and turned it over. Kizer took it really tough. He didn’t seem to have a great game but I only saw 4Q and OT.

When I made the Chastain comp is was in regards to his explosiveness and jumper. Chastain was very smooth in high school and attacked well. Kizer is similar in that sense. Chastains shot obviously didn’t do too well in college.

His HS coach was coaching somewhere down south, AL, MS or something like that before he came to Metamora.

I see as a good thing - he can compare South Alabama campus and facilities to ISU.
