Let’s be fair to this guy, if he is more of a #2, then let’s play him there.

All we have now are #2s, Key, Cope, Rudy, all the guys hurt or on the bench are 2s. Can they dribble, yes most of the time. Can they run the team, penetrate, draw defenders, get assists, lead the mental frame of the team on the floor... I don’t see much of that. If this guy is the floor general we need then great, job done. If he is more of a 2, then let’s not try to turn a #2 into a PG once they step foot on campus.

Dan, for some reason, only loves these combo type guards that are good at what they do for a 2, but lack seriously the skills to be a player who can run the team. It makes Dan look really bad.

The PG is the QB and until Dan sees it as a priority, it’s going to be much of the same frustrating playground looking ball we are trying to endure.

If the Birds are going to compete in the Valley next season, they are in DIRE need of a PG. Every other MVC team has a good PG (some even have good backup PGs). It's killed ISU this season. I know HC Muller has said PGs are hard to find, but he and the staff will need to bring in a lock down, run the team, PG or will be in the same mess next season....argh!!!

C'mon Dan, please deliver the PG that can make all the difference for the upcoming season. Heck, why not a good backup PG too The Valley is also full of good bigs, and a decent big would really benefit ISU.

I'll join Quinn in beating the drum that Muller had a PG. He's 19 and making money in Europe now. You can't really plan for that. I've said it before but the offense Duhon brought doesn't really require a solid PG. Once we go into a motion offense or transition, that is when the need is glaring.

I was at the Pekin regional championship game tonight. Pekin beat Rock Island and Bradley recruit JaMir Price. Not at all impressed by Price. 10 points and fouled out of the game jumping sideways into a 6’7” Pekin defender. He did that multiple times until it was finally called. The Pekin student section chanted “over rated” every time he touched the ball. Maybe it was just a bad game, but he didn’t show me much.

For what it’s worth, I watched Javon Freeman at RB High School for two games last year and wasn’t impressed at all. Small sample size proved wrong that time.
