I did not hear any post-game coverage. Does anyone know why Coach Spack brought in Kolbe for the last series of the 1st half and stuck with Davis the rest of the way? If you were going with Davis why make the switch for just one series? There must have been a reason but I never heard why. I thought Kolbe may be coming to try to pick things up a bit but it was one series and done. Davis played okay in the 2nd but it was just okay. He seemed kind of flustered to me. MoState had a good rush on him most of the day (O-line should be taking him to dinner this week to apologize for such an inept performance) but I saw him ducking away after throwing the ball more than once in the second half. Sometimes the rush was not that close but he was almost ducking as he threw. #52 from MoState was smelling QB blood in the water.

Agree it made no sense to pull Davis for just one series .. unless he was banged up. If coaches wanted to change things up and let Davis see things from sideline, they should have left Kolbe in for a couple series during a quarter, not one series to close out half.

So maybe Davis was banged up and tended to at half time ?

But agree OL was not ready .. both Robinson and Davis struggled. Davis struggle with accuracy, but also got chased and hit some. So OL performance is probably as much on coaches as OL. MoST may be better than many of us thought .. plus they had an extra week to prepare ... they came out ready to execute a game plan, and we looked flat and not ready to execute game plan. Part of that is on Davis accuracy, but also on the OL.

In hindsight, this might have been a nice wake up call .. need to show up every week in MVFC. The bottom of conference is stronger this year .... need to show up every week and be ready from opening kick.

Really, how does the O line look sooooo good vs. FBS CSU last week and so bad this week vs. Missouri State?

Spack is on the record saying he will use both QBs when needed. It was one of those situations where he felt Brady needed to see what the defense was doing from the sideline.

As others have said, hopefully that was Davis' worst game.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. No holes for backs and no protection for QB.
Pass defense also looked bad.

The extra week plus the Birds having to travel to Colorado last weekend may have been a factor. I felt the ISU coaching staff was out coached in this game. I do think that MoState is a better team than most thought. At least the defense is better than most thought. Their D looked really strong or the Birds were really bad.

Worst game accuracy-wise. Great to see no fumbles or interceptions - takes great care of the ball.

If I understood what Spack said at halftime on WJBC - he felt he needed to make a change at QB. He felt Davis got the message at half and would be starting the second half. I would say there is more than one way to interpret that. I would say it was an attention getter with a little ass chewing at half. I am sure others would see it differently.

I dont know much...but I know i love you. Oh wait, that was a song.

I don't know much...but reiterating what Tre said...10TD's, ZERO picks, ZERO fumbles. 9-0-0 in the big games.
