The fencing has been put up for the construction zone for the IPF - which is impacting Tailgate and Tent locations. The fencing is taking a portion of the G83 lot and ALL of the Tent Zone area. That will be used for materials and equipment.

I'm thrilled to see real progress on the IPF but the timing is bittersweet. The grass practice field is now torn up. August is the one month it is really useful to have a grass practice field. The heat radiates off the turf on Hancock and August can be brutal, by September it will start to get better.
There is still a grass field that U-High uses to practice. I don't know if that can be utilized or not.

There's no reason they can't throw some lines down on the track infield and the soccer field. There's plenty of time to get those in shape for next spring. The IPF is for everyone so everyone can give a little.

I was dropping my nephew off at Pedon's basketball camp this morning and saw the soccer team walking to practice. It's a HAUL to get to the soccer field. Heck, walking over there is good enough to be a nice pre-practice warmup.

Maybe, but I would have some concerns about damage to the track and field with 300lb players stomping around. The soccer field would be a better bet but Adunk is right about the walk. It would take time to walk to the soccer field and they have these practices timed to the minute.

Could they maybe use the old NCHS field across the street from Redbird arena if unit 5 lets them? Its a walk but its not like that field is used anymore for anything?

Other than women's soccer is a fall sport . . . really can't have football players chewing up their field.

I'd guess that about 35 parking spaces or so in G83? (the lot immediately north of the field) are unavailable.

There is a little bit of the far north end of the Tent Zone area that remains grass. Wouldn't surprise me either way if they put up a tent there or make it unavailable. For some games the Tent Zone has a lot of people. It'll be interesting to see where they go to tailgate this season.

I did chuckle at Kyle saying on the In The Nest podcast how aesthetically pleasing it's going to make things. I thought, "it's a white dome with a reggie on it".
