A bit tongue in cheek, but IHSA transfer rules are under fire, with a bill in Springfield to change the rules . . .

This will not even make it to the floor for a vote. There will be total chaos at the high school level if this bill should become law. Let the schools decide what they want. Our state lawmakers have their hands full and can’t run our state. Do you honestly believe they should intervene in school activities? The sponsor of the bill didn’t even know what the IHSA does.

This was all over the news here in Chicago because some wrestler went from Downers North to Montini and wasn't allowed wrestle. That's likely where this issue started to take shape, because it's in the news and some lawyer wants to make a name, bla bla bla. But talking with parents of Jr High kids who are playing sports, the Catholic schools up here scope out the kids and offer them 'discounts' on tuition before this all happens.

I can understand why kids would want to go to these schools with higher graduation rates and better prep for colleges, and just overall more exposure/connections. The rules should be the same both ways in regards to transfers. Why should the kid have to sit a year one way and not the other? That doesn't make sense.

They are going to have to change the rules so they are the same. Either let no one play or put in a delay of a month or something but it has to be the same for all schools.

Like the long tweet says, it's happening all the time in the CPL.
