I wonder if this is one of those posting to keep a player who graduated around to get her feet wet coaching. The business takes care of their own, so having a person on your support staff learn the business, in the wings when one of your other Assistants moves up/on. I know they have grad assistants, but maybe they don't want to have go to class, and this is the way around it. And you can't just hire, it all has to go through the proper postings and stuff, to seem like it's on the up and up, even though you know who your hiring prior to the posting even being created.

Paige is playing overseas, Mary is going to Medical school, and Deanna decided to return for 1 more year. That would leave Jada Stinson from the graduating class this year.

Might not be someone in this current class either. Could be someone connected to the coach who was a GA somewhere else. A new position out of the blue in May, leads me to believe they want to have someone ready to take over incase one of the current Assistants gets an offer for their own team or wins the lotto or something. Also once the position is created, then you likely have it that spot going forward. It also is good from a program standpoint that they are investing $ into the coaching staff. It's nice to pay them more, but it's also nice to bring in someone to do some of the crap jobs to free up time.
