I was listening to the show on I Heart Radio and Coach Spack had the same sound in his voice as he did before the CSU game. Go Redbirds!!

Last night Brock talked up DL Steven Podkulski. He's coming back from injury, but looks like he could play this weekend and be a big help against the run. I was talking just recently with one of our reserve OL. I asked him who is tough to block in practice. He talked about how fast Dex -Kelley is off the edge, and Romeo McKnight being a beast. He also mentioned how tough Podkulski was to block. I had never heard of him, but then Brock mentions him too. He's only a sophomore, so watch out for #90 and also read this old article I found. You can't help but root for him.

all I can think, wow .. how did he not fall thru the cracks ? Incredible life story and what he has overcome. I can't believe we missed his story ... this article is a year old. Thanks for posting ... impressive young man, he has a lot to be proud having made it this far. I will watch him develop fom here with even more interest. I think he was slated to start before his injury. Can't wait to watch him along side Ridgeway.

He was emerging as a likely starter next to Ridgeway until he got hurt. He did play multiple snaps last week and he will play tomorrow. He'll play in the bigger DL spot as opposed to a quicker, lighter Defensive End.

NDSU is essentially the same size we are on the lines. They are, however, generally older as most of their linemen will average a year older than our guys.

Podkulski will add a quality player to the rotation. NDSU seems to wear teams down as the game continues, so keeping the line as fresh as possible is important.

The Child Protection Network is hosting a luncheon this Friday, October 26 at Noon in the Hancock Club, where Coach Spack will introduce #90 Steven Podkulski, and Steven will tell his very moving story. Admission is free. PM me if you would like to attend.
