In watching videos of his play he sometimes reminds a little bit of Jai Lewis (George Mason) with his build, soft hands and mobility. I look forward to seeing how his skills will translate into the college game. The Redbirds need a big that can rebound and play defense and at least contribute meaningfully to the offense. I do think his offense will translate well with what I can see.

Has anyone recently seen him play live at one of his games? I would be interested on your take.

He’s determined. Barber is his trainer.

I took a video recording of Connor's Instagram Story (they expire after 24 hours and i can't upload it here to this forum unfortunately) of Chase training with Connor doing strength training exercises and he has lost A LOT of weight!! One of the drills I have on video is of him jumping over forward on both feet over 6 hurdles. The first 3 were only about 1 foot and the last 3 were 3 feet each.

Here is what I find amazing and why I think he will be a star at ISU. You are looking at a senior in high school putting in the work to become better. In high school he is transforming his body. Just wait until he is at ISU with this work ethic. Kid will be in the gym working on his game all the time. Missed a few free throws? Next day in the gym by himself shooting free throws. Just seems like he is a winner and will help build this culture.

This is a very good point.

Those videos from IG a few days back were incredible. You see his big body and think "no way can he move with finesse and eloquence" and then boom. As someone who has struggled with weight most of their life in some way or another, his work ethic is truly inspiring. I know how hard it is to drop a significant amount of weight. Its a daunting task not for the faint of heart. Good for him. Can't wait to see him suit up in the fall!

Look at the side by side transformation he's already had this year! Absolutely love his work ethic. His high school career just ended and he's in the weight room busting his ass to get ready for the next chapter of his life. You can't really teach the will to succeed, that must come from within. It can be activated with coaching and mentorship but there still must be that fire within and Chase clearly has it. If you look at the before and after photos, just imagine if he keeps at this pace how he'll be by November. Definitely a kid that's easy to cheer for.

I just have a feeling that Chase is the kind of kid that is going to use this as fuel and in many ways, could make him that much more loyal to us. Perhaps this is just my projection that I'm holding in my mind than reality but he seems like he has an incredible work ethic and is hungry. He was passed over by the voters in the state of Ohio, by many other bigger programs and coach Pedon and ISU has shared how much they believe in him.
I'm very impressed by his body transformation and his attitude that I've experienced in a few different videos I've seen. He's an easy kid to cheer for.
