It is early yet but I have not seen much in the way of expectations for the spring MVFC season. Locally, I saw this article discussing what the CAA envisions for spring. They are looking at 6 conference games mostly regional. Maybe a non-conference game or two depending. Probably no more than 8 games total. An interesting note was the comments by the Richmond coach. His recruit class could well be cut in half if some current players decide to skip the spring for eligibility concerns and wait until the fall of 2021 to play again. They are still waiting for guidelines on how eligibility is going to be handled by the NCAA. Players leaving early via the portal, players may be skipping a year totally, HS Freshman being impacted by a lack of roster openings that would normally have been expected. What a situation.
The CAA schools are a bit closer regionally than the MVFC schools so setting the schedule to limit travel is probably an easier proposition.
Still a lot of moving parts with the shift to spring. I had not thought about players that may skip a year and limit the ability to recruit HS players. Two players so far have entered the portal from ISU. If this spring season counts against eligibility I can see where a player may well choose to skip a year and come back in the fall of 2021. Anyway, I thought some of you may be interested in how this is shaking out in other areas of the country.

FCS warming up to notion of spring football, if feasible, with six to eight games
It’s nobody’s first choice, and it was generally accepted as “the last resort” a few months ago. But most FCS programs seem to be warming to the notion of a
