I’m not holding a kid leaving LSU against him. Everyone knew fall out and sanctions weren’t coming. He probably saw the writing on the wall.

He only has one year left so we don’t have to worry about him ditching us for another school
My only concern is if he plays for himself before the team. If he realizes the team‘s success is the best thing for him, we’re all good. Hoping for the best.

He left an entire year prior to that. He was only there for a semester. I don't think sanctions had anything to do with it.

Actually he was enrolled well after the story went public. If you recall April 2021 is when Sean Miller went down. Everyone knew Wade was going down too. LSU just delayed longer.

I'd say wing. Over 17 ppg at SJSU, "power forwards" don't fill it up like that in today's game. I think the day of a power forward is gone and we're in the world of a "stretch 4" and "wing" to define the 3/4 spot.

How long until someone on here calls him "Wallace."
Well, now it's obligitory

Looks like he should have some guard skills. Recruited out of Lafayette, LA. by San Jose State as a 6'-6", 190 guard. Listed on last year's BYU roster as a 6'-7", 224 forward.

Did some research and watched some stuff from BYU. Seems to be mostly a 3, but did play some 4. Said in a BYU interview that he’s been doing screens and rolling for the first time ever. He’s self proclaimed he needs to combine year 2 offense with year 3 defense. Looks like new role and being to asked new things limited some scoring. Love the buy in to defense and that he was willing to try the new things.

Some BYU chatter about him being a me over team guy, but from what I can tell I don’t see it. Talented kid with 1 year left. I love the addition and hope he can come in and set the tone for the future.

My guess is he plays the 3 for us in the Valley. I could see him making a living at the FT line driving a lot. I think he is a great pick up, especially for one year.

Yeah, I've never been a fan of bringing in the vagabonds, but this one seems to be/may be a little more complicated, including Covid, the LSU problems, and you now, I may be making this up, but I could see where there is a "culture" at BYU that isn't for everyone, especially if you weren't a Mormon. For me, easier to see how you might not "fit in" there overall (not just the team, but in the university overall). We'll see how it works out.

As for where he plays, lots of interchangeable positions these days in basketball - is there such a thing as a stretch 3? - there's a fair number of kids out there at 6'6, 225 who can be pretty powerful and explosive inside, don't know if Knight is that kid, but in the MVC could be. Work the baseline, stop and pop or drive to the hoop. Set up at the high post, turn and shoot or drive the lane. Etc. etc.

Welcome aboard Seneca, really excited about welcoming you to ISU.

- My thought on Seneca is a couple things. Benson lists Seneca as 6'7 225lbs when looking at the Ohio State roster Ej Liddell is listed at 6'7 240lb. If they can put 10lbs on Seneca this off-season I can picture him playing the 4 or spot that Liddell played at Ohio State, Benson even mentioned that Seneca played the 4 at BYU. A career 30%, 3 point shooter isn't a guy I think will play on the wing a lot especially when Pedon mentions wanting to get shooters. The bigs at Ohio State are only 6'8 as well but broad shoulders and in the 240lb range.
- I can picture ISU putting weight on Schmitt, Kotov, even a little on McChesney and Sissoko and them playing the post spot. Wouldn't surprise me if it was interchangeable at the forward spot with Seneca and Lewis, Burford, a guard and then Kaskubke in the Justin Ahrens role.

Not really a knock on him but just state of fundamental basketball. We worked constantly on pick and rolls...in the...6th grade. We didn't use a pick and roll offense, but it didn't matter. You learned the skill. A D1 team could score a couple hundred points in a season on accidental pick and rolls.

Now...you need a bucket to win a game... more often than not, ends in a hold&dribble for ten seconds and let it fly from 30.🤦‍♂️

Next year will be a record amount of 3-point shots in school history. Bombs away

I think it was more due to him being the ball handler and not the one setting the screen.

I took it as though he'd never in his life worked on pick and roll. Maybe I misinterpreted.

WELCOME to the Redbirds...despite my p&r criticism. He had some BIG games a few yrs ago...which makes him a very intriguing player.
