Will never forget taking the bus trip to Purdue in the NIT tournament when he went off for 40. Should have won that game. Still a bummer we didn't.

Our latest podcast was posted today and our guest is former assistant coach Ray Giacoletti. He was a head coach at North Dakota St, Eastern Washington, Utah, and Drake. He was also an assistant at Washington (under Bender), Gonzaga, and most recently St Louis.

He shares some viewpoints on the portal and NCAA that you may find interesting.

Hope you enjoy and as always an feedback is appreciated.

Guys I appreciate your work on the podcast so much. THANK YOU!! Great straightforward interview with Coach Giac. Very refreshing to hear him state his opinion on the current state of college basketball. Keep in mind he coached a great team, with a truly great player, at the highest level. We were quite lucky to have him.

Looking forward to the next one!

PS. I'll tell ya, a thought just hit me. Our uber-enthusiastic President, Dr. Kinzy, might be an interesting guest because she invests herself whole-heartedly in our athletic programs.

Why her? Why NOT her?!!

I would say a great guest would be former Illinois State University President, Al Bowman.
His love for the University, the Athletic Department, and the Students Body was unparalleled. As was the love that the student body had for him! Would love to hear some of his stories. I think he may have been asked to leave his seat by a referee for at least one Redbird game down in St Louis. He had a great passion for Redbird athletics.

We would love to have both or either one of them on the podcast. I/we don't have contact information for Bowman but can research that.

One of the reason I like Dr. G-K so much is because of the similarities with Dr. Bowman.

They're both not only great leaders, but you can still see the teacher (Coach) in them. The engaged-enthusiastic-invested teacher. Makes all the difference in the world.

A lot of reasons, folks, to be proud of OUR Illinois State University.

We just posted our latest episode ... Greg Dilligard. He has a great sense of humor and it a stand-up guy. You won't want to miss this one.

Wow. Wow. Very tough call!! Late to the party but I'd add 2 caveats. Base it on their best overall year, and only if you saw them all play in person during their peak.

No twitter here either.
Lamb or Cornley. Tough call. I will go with Hank as I think he was more of a coke machine than Lamb.
