Aug 11 scrimmage today

Most interesting on offense to me and most of us .. QB and WR

• Senior quarterback Jake Kolbe was efficient as always, completing 13-of-18 passes for 132 yards … Davis went 5-for-12 for 98 yards, but tossed a pair of touchdowns on the day with one each to Haley and Biegalski ... reported elsewhere that Davis got picked twice.

• 15 different players caught passes during the scrimmage, with senior Matt Bielgalski leading the way with four catches for 65 yards and a touchdown … Kentre Patterson also had a solid morning, with three grabs for 67 yards with a long of 28 yards

Most interesting on defense ... uh ... everywhere .. so click link. But looks like LBers were pretty productive .. but defense is harder to tell than offense in scrimmages.

Back to offense .. RBs Birch and Smith both had nice days. No mention of Robinson .. sat out ???

Was anyone there ... your thoughts on what you saw ???

2 names with big plays that were great to hear:

offense ... WR Kentre Patterson had 3 catches 67 yards. If he can be a presence on outside/deep, that will take a ton of pressure off slot receiver Schnell, TE Petkovic and our RBs. Pattterson is the track star who was all MVFC as FR in high hurdles. Dude can flat out run .. if he learns the WR position, watch out.

defense .. alreaday mentioned productive LB group .. but LB Barajas played and had fumble recovery that they said would have been returned 67 yards. Good to hear he is healthy !!

More on our LB group later .. teaser ... they were big last year, and they didn't get any smaller this year.

I hope Barajas plays up to his potential this year. I was pretty hyped when he transferred here from Notre Dame.
