Not that this is strong indicator, but it's not nothing either. So I do see this season looking a little like 2013 .. slow uneven start, and then we s4ttle down as season progresses. IMO the question will be how soon do we turn corner and start competing more consistently on both sides of ball.

Defense ... my moderate pessimism could be wrong on defense, but we've lost a lot of studs since 2019 .. hard to assume, we will reload. I believe this will be a rebuild on defense. DL may be more ready than I am thinking, but our 2 deep has taken too many hits at all 3 levels from 2019.

Offense .. my guarded optimism could be somewhat wrong on offense, but I think/hope Jefferson will settle down .. he has the skill set. The 64k question is can he step up to point where he is more comfortable making quick decisions in and out of pocket. Again the true dual pass skills are there ... he just needs to read the field and then make better decisions and throws. His pocket sense seems every strong as young as he is/was. But he needs to mature in his decision making (i.e. protecting ball passing and tucking it) .. he is not young anymore. We'll see about OL, but love our RB group (promise we all saw is showing up) and WR/TE group (need to stay healthier than we've been).

Special Teams .. usually good to very good, but with our depth being so tapped, this could slip some .. though fully expect it to recover.

Spack knows very well how to reload and rebuild this roster, and then develop them and fit them into his program .. other than that pesky little QB spot. Problem is, rebuilds take a little longer.

We'll be back .. sooner than later. Only a question of when.
