Looks like there's going to be another six transfers out of Illinois State basketball program. We are leading the nation in transfers at least we have that going for us

I’m ok if those transfers are anyone except:

Burford
Poindexter
Kasubke
Lewis

Although I doubt that McChesney will be transferring and Sissoko seems to be content with little playing time & finishing his career as a Redbird.

That would leave four scholarships to fill.

Should I ask? Who do you think will do so?

Not going to say any names concerning transfers; however, there are 4 so called bigs that are not playing significant minutes. Coach P is playing walk ons more minutes primarily because they can at least handle the ball and run his offense.

It's best not to pay attention to or engage with some of the energy on this forum. I have massive respect for your willingness to engage and be part of this community, as a family member of one of our team members. I've grown up around ISU basketball and have known and been friends with many of the players and coaches over the years and these types of fan forums can become a toxic swamp of sorts with people venting frustration and sharing attacking comments towards our kids. While you're one of the very few that posts here, I do know that many family members and close friends of our student athletes frequent this board and read the comments and I know that can be tough to read some of them. Overall, this fan site is much better and cleaner than a lot of the ones I've seen out there. Thanks for showing up the way you do!

This is a “fan” board. Where fans of the team come to bitch, moan and groan. Complain about the quality quantity of court side food and drinks. Speculating on every aspect of Redbird sports. Ask questions that we may not want to know the answers to. Support the teams when they do well. Tell our other fan board members where, when, what we are, will be doing at Arch Madness. Comment on what Caribbean trip the team is taking. Then complain about the hotel or pre game reception. And lots of other “stuff”.

This is a fan board. Hopefully no one takes all this too seriously. And I would add, get use to criticism, you will experience it the rest of your adult life. And yes thank you to every athlete that has represented ISU over the years, and thank you to your family.

I’m not into publicly speculating, but I love the chance at the core coming back. I think Poindexter, Burford, and Kasubke as a base “core” can be well built upon. And no I’m not saying anyone I didn’t list should leave it that I think they will.

Completely agree on all of the above. There are however times over the last 25+ years of this board where some of the bitching and moaning towards our student athletes crossed a line beyond critical feedback to being mean spirited and hateful. From my observation, I feel the vast majority of fans on here don't cross that line but some certainly have and I know from private conversations over the years how it can sting.

For the athletes, family members and friends of the athletes that read this board, I love and completely agree with this perspective from David Goggins. Side note, if you're into listing to audio books, David's two books You Can't Hurt Me and Never Finished are fantastic to listen to (I have the books good) because there is a mini podcast episode between each chapter. He has an incredible life story.

The starters are no great shakes either. Matt Hein would play significant minutes with this CCIW caliber roster.
No, he wouldn’t. Hein was the player you put in to send a threat to the guys that should actually be playing. And it backfired because the guys that should be playing never rose to the occasion.

People seem to forget how bad the last 4 years isu basketball was before this year. You really think Hein was better than Burford, Poindexter, and Kasubuke? The Muller is strong in you then.

In games he played 10 or more minutes, ISU was 26-20. The last two years of his career the team was 35-31. His only other year we were 28-7. How do we backfire like that now? Might be more fun than being 10-19.

Agreed. But Crazzy brings nothing to the table. Plenty of frustrated posters who at least take the time to put together well thought out posts.
