That’s fair. Although different league, different role. He shot 81% with 137 attempts last year in this league. He’s more than just a knock down a 3 type. But yes, this team is good at making their free throws. Always encouraging.

I’ll stand by my belief and pushback on the take he wouldn’t help this team much. A Reeves type player would definitely improve this team.

Antonio Reeves has a higher offensive rating, a better 3 point percentage, and a better A:TO ratio than any player on this roster. He just scored 27 against Mississippi in a win, which would be our best win of the year. We are dying to get Colton Sandage healthy, but sure… Antonio Reeves, who has scored in double figures in eight of his last nine in the SEC, wouldn’t make this team better. Once again my point is he could put up those exact numbers and the team probably still would have a losing record with this group of players. If he could play the one at a high level then I’d agree wholeheartedly. Sure he could make the team better, but what does that mean? Individually or for a top half finish and a tournament run? I actually agree with most of that. They’re still so many variables to consider. Realistically speaking I’d say a record of 13-12 still a difference.

We also don’t have an Oscar Tshiebwe down low. Reeves was fantastic when he had space to operate. Once Chatman went down all the focus went to shutting him down and we stopped scoring efficiently - and the wins disappeared, too.

Reeves is where he is meant to be: at Kentucky, doing what he does best because the elite athletes around him allow him to do so.

He would help this Birds team, of course, but his talents would be under-utilized here as far as translating to wins, and he’d be flying well under the NBA radar.

The internet is free. You can find all of this instead of saying ISU wouldn’t be better with one of the elite scorers in the country. He just had the 4th most points in a season in school history. He was the first player in 20+ years to average 20+ points per game as a Redbird. The notion that Antonio Reeves is some guy and wouldn’t change ISU, a bad mid-major, while he contributes for a team that will be in the NCAA tournament is a tough stance to take.

While I agree 7 more wins is a lot.....it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility. Reeves could have been POY this year in the Valley had he stayed.

In the release for AJ Green winning the POY last year, it said he was the 49th player in MVC history with 1700 career points. Right now, while only starting 5 games his senior year, Reeves has 1493 pts. If he averages his 20 pts like he did last year and scores almost 700, he would had more than AJ Green did. In fact, if he scored exactly the same amount of points this year as last year while at ISU, he'd be around 25th on the all time MVC scoring list. Ahead of Osiris, Kyle Korver, Ben Jacobeson, AJ Green.

Not to mention, do we think Reeves would have scored more or less under Pedon than he did with Dan?

The guy who is fifth on his team in minutes played is using 25% of the possessions when he is on the floor in conference play, the most on the team, and is turning that into 54/42/88 shooting splits. That is how.

He's averaging 15.7 in his last nine games on 51/43/92 shooting. In the last 30 days, Kentucky's efficiency margin when Reeves is on the floor is +24.5 - that leads the team. That is the definition of a game changer. Kentucky is best when he is on the floor over the last month. They're 7-3 in that timeframe. All conference games... except that one against Kansas.

Bradley is 17-8 with a NET of 73 and is currently projected as an 8 seed for the NIT and with conference championships coming up and knocking bubble teams out of the NCAA tournament. Projected as an 8 seed for the NIT is not very safe at all.

Last season, Drake had 24 wins (and a NET of 85) before the postseason; the Bulldogs played in the CBI. 19 W's from a team in a mid-major conference whose toughest non-conference opponent (Ball State, loss) has a NET of 136 simply will not get a NIT at-large bid.
