Just announced: Bradley will face Arkansas in Little Rock December 17th. Would be nice to see the Redbirds schedule at least one game like this. Has Pedon completed the Non-Conference scheduled, or does he have one game left to schedule?

I am relatively sure, based on below and a twenty-game conference schedule, they are full (five home, four neutral, two road):

11/07 Western Illinois
11/10 at Eastern Illinois
11/12 at Northwestern State
11/17 Northwestern State
11/21 vs Louisiana State
11/22 vs Akron or Western Kentucky
11/23 vs Kansas State, Nevada, Rhode Island or Tulane
12/07 Eastern Michigan
12/10 Southern Illinois-Edwardsville
12/17 vs Ball State
12/19 Chicago State

They are basically playing every public non-MVC school (only missing Illinois and Northern Illinois).

Also (as it stands now), two week gap between Cayman Islands Classic and Eastern Michigan.

I think you are allowed only 31 regular season games so it should be full. No D2 teams which is good. The rest of the schedule is blah except the tournament. I hope we beat the four in-state schools for underwhelming bragging rights.

I think the layoff after Cayman is 2 MVC games. I am assuming the 3rd MVC game will be around New Years which seems like a long time break from the Chicago St game.

I see no reason this team should schedule murderers in non-con. Most of these guys are brand new to the team. The coach needs to establish a WINNING culture, not a "Well, you played your best" culture. By playing 8 of your first 15 against RPI250+ teams, you can set that culture that we expect to win.

Let's be honest, this is a one bid league. The only reasons you go out and schedule Kentucky or Wisconsin in the non-con is to get your tournament resume up and to get your guys time against 4 and 5 star players to see how they do. These guys are not ready for that challenge yet and if we played 10 games against the T25 and somehow won 4 of them, we'd still not even be close to being in, so look at non-con as little more than exhibition for Valley season and even that is little more than seeding for the only 3-4 games that matter alllll season in March.

I like the schedule. Set a culture and work from there.

There are some seasons you want to schedule tough matchups. There are some seasons where you don’t. This season to me is the latter.
There is zero Freshmen & Zero JUCO transfer’s on this years team. Everyone has D1 experience (some against very tough opponents). If this team was loaded with youth and JUCO players (as in past seasons) I would agree with a cupcake schedule, but it’s not.

But . . . but . . . this team will be very inexperienced . . .

. . . as Redbirds . . .

that's gotta give them some slack . . . no?

Bingo! Athletics! You don't gain confidence beating up your little sister. It makes you a schmuck. Kids aren't stupid. They know who they're playing. You get better playing better competition. Kentucky plays faster and stronger than Eastern. To play with Kentucky means stepping up. It gets you better. Playing with Eastern means playing down to your competition. Hells bells who want's that? Look at the way Gilespie brings in men to practice against her women. Proverbs 27:17!!! Steel sharpens steel. Be an athlete!

Scheduling is hard. Really hard. So for the first year, I give them a pass. But don't kid yourself. This schedule does little to get them better for the MVC tourney.

While I agree for the most part there is a chemistry factor in year one and that is easier to attain when you're (presumably) winning.

While I have no big qualms with the schedule (scheduling at our level is JUST what Timmy said above...REALLY HARD), that is one OUTSTANDING post!

Not sure a weak non con will help with Arch Madness evenflow, maybe pad the W column a little for r overall season record but here’s my chuckle…… u saying 4-6 against T25 teams???? Heck we ain’t beat 4 T25 teams in the last 22 years so……I’m ok with just getting a few extra W’s for this season and making believe We R Special.

What would you say if I told you we beat a top 25 team for four consecutive years under Muller. Can't beat them unless you play them

2015 - 16 beat #21 Wichita 58-53
2014 - 15 beat #8 WIchita 65 - 62
2013 - 14 beat #25 Dayton 81 - 75
2012 - 13 beat #16 Creighton 75 - 72
