On the roster he is listed as a graduate student, can he have 2 years left as the graduate student? Being the 2 years left to get his masters?

Technically yes. Zeisloft transferred as a grad student and had 2 years at Indiana.

I would agree with others, with the COVID year he would have 2 years left to play, if he wants the second.

Correct. The list was to outline how many years the guys have left if they utilize the covid year.

In my experience, it seems most Masters programs are 2 years anyway. Nicky Z and Kotov potentially putting the STUDENT back in Student Athlete.

Here's an eligibility update:
1: Sandage, Knight
2: Lewis, Schmitt, Kotov, Petrakis
3: Kasubke, Burford, Poindexter, McChesney, Stadleman, Sissoko, Johnson, Miller,
2022-23 Roster as it stands 5/18.
1. McChesney (f)
2. Lewis (f)
3. Sissoko (f)
4. Kotov (f)
5. Schmitt (f)
6. Sandage (g) Xfer from Western Illinois
7. Poindexter (g) Xfer from Virginia
8. Burford (g) Xfer from Elon
9. Luke Kasubke (g) Xfer from K-State
10. Seneca Knight (g/f) Xfer from BYU
11. Joe Petrakis (f) Xfer from WCU.

Stadelman WO (g)
Miller WO (g)
Jayden Johnson (g)

Got the veteran big I asked for. Though it would be great to bring in true post, maybe Pedon likes what's on the roster or his system doesn't need one. Final two scholarships I'd like to see a 2022 big and a veteran guard but wouldn't mind a 2022 guard either to try to balance out the classes a bit. I could also see Pedon sticking to his word and adding maybe one more piece and then rewarding one of the walkons for a year. Doesn't seem like he's bringing guys in just to fill out the roster.

That's my question for everyone do we think it's possible he doesn't use all the scholarships and saves one to reward a walk-on with a scholarship for a year. With offering as much 2023 kids as we have, I am wondering if he's wanting as much scholarships for 2023 as possible.

I personally think he uses them all. He may reward a walk on with one for a year, but I think he uses the scholarships. My guess is we probably land a frosh and one more transfer.

I also personally don't love banking scholarships. With the way injuries and illness can happen I would never want to end up short on players in a season if I can help it. And in the era of the transfer I think if we find out we need more scholarships than we have next year, I suspect we can make that happen.

Sissoko is the only guy on the roster who started here. Can brining in a frosh ever pay off anymore? I get recruiting the state Build relationships with kids who when they transfer... and they will... will hopefully want to play closer to home. Let's find some success and not be a P5 feeder school.

I think recruiting Frosh can still work, especially with a good coach and a good program. Does that mean that all of our Frosh recruits will play all 4 years for us? Probably not. But factors like, how good the team is, how long the coach stays, how much a connection the coach can make, can all play factors in whether a kid stays at a school or not. If we can infuse some NIL money into the program we'll have a much better chance with all of the above true.

I’d reckon we still need that true post player. Envious of the success Krutwig had in the Valley. Love the additions thus far, excited for the season to start. 2 ships left I believe. I feel we are good at guard. Lots of minutes headed to the new guard additions. I’d love that back to the basket, rim protecter, rebound machine. A space eater, clogging the lane.

I’m not sure of what frosh are left at this point. Might behoove of us to get one year players with the hope a few of the local recruits end up committing in the future. In Pedon I trust. We are slowly getting our swagger back. Count me in for a game at Redbird this season.

With Andrews back it appears, roster is actually now “forward” heavy. Maybe a veteran PG with last spot? Probably best available though which is smart.

Being one of the two worst teams in a mediocre conference is not getting Swagger back LOL

This suggests to me that the book has been closed on the '22 recruiting class and the final scholarship (for this year) will likely be rewarded to a walk-on and then used for a '23 recruit. I'd assume it goes to Miller as the longest-tenured walk-on but who knows.

i agree . . . though I doubt the door is locked shut. If the right guy comes along . . .

If you check out nothing else about this, I highly recommend looking at Andrew Dakich's hype on every player. I'm digging it and his excitement is contagious.

I know the roster is complete, but.....

Another versatile wing-type.
