I'd love to see us bring in a veteran PG. The smaller guards we have now, I believe are all combo guards. I'd love to get a true PG with one of the 3 schollies we have left.

Sandage primarily played PG this year at WIU, and Poindexter says he's comfortable in either role. But having a "true" pg wouldn't hurt.

Sandage may have played PG at WIU, but Crowley and Planck played PG for us . . . so . . .

Gotta be honest, I am really liking our backcourt. Those guys all have the ability to go off on any given night. I think Poindexter is gonna surprise some people.

Need a couple bigs and a reserve pg.

The thing I love about this roster so far is a few things.
1. Depth
2. Versatility and guys who can play multiple spots on the floor
- Sandage, Burford and Knight all put up about 10ppg at previous stops.
3. A few guys who are 5th year seniors or what not for scholarships that we can use on all the 2023 incoming freshmen and the talent that is around the state.

All this being said I would like a post who we can go in thru the post to throw the ball to.

I'd feel safer with a true PG, because we've seen what having primarily Combo Guards got us under the last regime.

Upon the Burford signing, Kendall Lewis posted a photo on IG in the media room at RBA with him, Sissoko, Kotov, Liam, Stadleman, Burford and Jayden Johnson (who is currently in the portal, maybe coming back?). I believe keeping Kendall and Liam around is good for the program, for sure. Notably missing is Freeman. I've heard he's not in town and recently spent some time in Georgia.
2022-23 Roster as it stands 4/18.
1. Freeman (g)
2. McChesney (f)
3. Lewis (f)
4. Sissoko (f)
5. Kotov (f)
6. Schmitt (g)
7. Sandage (g)
8. Poindexter (g)
9. Burford (g)
10. Knight (f)
Stadelman WO (g)
Miller WO (g)
Jayden Johnson announces he’s coming back.

We don’t have a single player with less than 2 years of D1 experience

I probably should just let this ignorance die a natural death by not responding further, but I didn't see any writer refer to Poindexter as a "project" and even if someone did their opinion is meaningless compared to Coach Pedon's, and in the Pantsgralh article linked a couple of pages ago on this thread Coach Pedon was high on him and happy to have him as a Redbird. To me, any other opinion at this time isn't worth a bucket of warm spit (a vivid description of insignificance that I first heard from a law school professor).

I'm guessing the popsto4 is savvy enough to quickly figure out which posters are best ignored.
Ha you’re absolutely right. If anyone google his name and read articles on him going back to his 2 years at Louisa County and up to this point, there will be a feeling of him as a person. The articles and highlights out there speaks of his game very very well. I will post some links of him on this board later.

My point for posting this clips is just to let the new fan base know. Sometimes if you’re not 6’6 you get overlooked. That doesn’t mean he can’t shoot the rock or handle it just as good if not better. I can’t wait for this to start.

Was just looking at the roster and there is no one that under their jr year. Here's an eligibility update:
1: Sandage, Knight
2: Lewis, Schmitt, Kotov (?)
3: Kasubke, Burford, Poindexter, McChesney, Stadleman, Sissoko, Johnson, Miller,

Kotov is the one I'm not super confident about...I don't believe it was confirmed that he was an RS or just randomly sat out last season due to injury or other reasons. He's listed as a Grad Student. Assuming he had one RS year somewhere, he should have 2 years.
18-19: Palm Beach State
19-20: Daytona State: played in 2 games before an injury (medical RS?)
20-21: ILST
21-22: ILST (DNP) Goredbirds simply says "did not play during the season.

You only get one RS and one COVID. At best he has two years left.

On the roster he is listed as a graduate student, can he have 2 years left as the graduate student? Being the 2 years left to get his masters?
