That kind of sucks. I kind of thought he had some promise. Just needs a little weight. He seem to stay healthy.
He probably wants to play somewhere he can start. Only averaged 14 minutes on a team that not only has everyone returning, but is looking to bring in a starting power forward. That would possibly make it even harder getting PT. If Alston Andrews returns, he will most likely get the minutes vacated by Abdou.

Well, true. But, you have to be a great player to come right in and start. If he worked in his jumper all summer...I wouldn’t rule out him starting. It’s not like Dusan is Blake Griffin.

Why would you even compare him to Dusan? Dusan is the only guy on the roster that plays like a big. Ndiaye can’t guard the perimeter well enough or shoot well enough to spread the floor. He was developing, but I won’t be too upset over losing a guy averaging his numbers. Very skilled, but just got pushed around at this level.

Ndiaye was great at help side defense. He was too slow though to play the corner of the zone and couldn't man up against another 5 that had size. His three point shot did improve though from his freshman year. He played hard though. I wish him luck wherever he lands.

Ndiaye was one of Muller's highest ever rated recruits. To see him leave after choosing ISU over some big name schools is disappointing.

Viuld have been worse. That's one we can afford. He had a knack for blocks

To be fair Abdou was never meant to be a post player. At most he was a stretch 4, but mostly a tweener. Offensively we never used his athleticism to our strength and when he was on the floor with another big guy he was always stuck outside of the perimeter. He was a good shot blocker, and possibly our only help side defender down low when our guards get beat.

Wonder if Andrews or Alex are staying. Andrews is really young. Think he was only 17 upon his arrival on campus. With limited minutes are they eligible for a redshirt. Think it is playing in no more than 5 games.

In basketball, and all sports except football if you play 1 second in 1 game it counts as a year. But this year and this year only the NCAA has exempted everyone and is giving them a 5th year if they choose to use it.
In football, you can play 4 and not burn a year.

Because outside a weak Dusan...we have nothing else now. Muller is incapable of plug n play.

So, why did we waste the scholarship? You can’t continue to plug 2-4 guys that were never meant to be on your team and continually replacing them year after year. That’s why we are where we are.

Real good shot blocker, but a big who preferred to play more like a small and not be near contact.
Actually, I don’t think he was all that great of a shot blocker. Only 33 for the year. Less than 1.5/game seems awfully light for a shot blocker. Yeah he had some that looked good, but he had way too many swings and misses.
