Playing Purdue at home and at Wisconsin! 1/8th of the Big Ten schedule! (I think they play 16 conference games).

The big boys always want to play decent mid major conference toilets. They get the satisfaction of saying they beat an MVC team by 40 and can then get the coach and AD off their back for never scheduling them.

The last time the women played a Big Ten opponent was a win on the road.
I plan to be in attendance when the Birds take on Wisconsin at the Kohl Center. The Badgers have had a really bad run the last ten years (97-199), but have a new coach this year - Marisa Mosely - a former MInnesota and UConn asst. and HC at Boston U. So, I would have really liked our chances vs. the last two coaches but not sure what to expect this year. Badgers were 5-19 last year, beat Valpo, WIU, North Dakota, Illini, huge upset vs Ohio St. Trivia - member of the Badgers Halle Douglass is the daughter of ex-Bears QB Bobby Douglass.

The Tip-Off Luncheon will be held in advance of the start of the 2021-22 campaign, with both teams opening the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 with the women's basketball team heading to Northern Illinois while the men's basketball team hosts UNCW at Redbird Arena.

Here's some hope for the future -- future opponent Wisconsin lost at home last night to NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology). NJIT had lost Friday at Marquette by 32 points, and also had a 12 point home loss to Wagner. Badgers are 1-1 at this point with a 16 point home win vs. St. Thomas (in its first year of Division I).

Lots of tickets for the Wisconsin game available, and they are calling it "$3 Thursday" - general admission tickets for $3 if you buy at least 4 (most behind the baskets, altho some courtside at the ends of the court). I'm guessing section 120 would be next to/behind the Redbird bench courtside.

With 3 minutes left in the game, UW-Green Bay is leading the Badgers 54-48 in Madison. UWGB is 4-4 on the season going into this game.

Final: UWGB 63 - Badgers 53. Badgers fall to 2-9.

Redbird Ladies, your table is ready!
