Birds to play Indiana in Louisville!!! With Louisville vs UIC on the other side of the bracket. There is definitely a chance to get out of this regional.

I don't see Louisville losing a game in this regional. They are a dominant team. Won the ACC... I have a bad feeling they could put up 15 runs on ISU if they were to play.

Well apparently they should call off the regional and award it to Louisville. But in case they go ahead and play it I think it'll be fun to go.

My guess is you’ve paid zero attention to this team.

Just so you know. ISU won a game at SEC regular season and tournament champion Vanderbilt. Louisville is the clear favorite, but it’s not like this Redbirds team hasn’t already proven they can beat an elite program.

You could choose to be positive about something just once, but that would against your little act.

If Louisville is as dominant as Jamar seems to think they are - then why are they the #7 seed?? Also, I believe the Tar Heels won the ACC Tournament.

Let's hope Louisville has the same arrogance as Jamar - throw a #3 or #4 starter in the first game vs UIC and get beat. Then the Birds take care of Indiana - this would put Louisville is a tough position. Oh well, we will see what happens. Arrogance has gotten the better of many a loser.

I hope Louisville starts Reid Detmers (Chatham Glenwood) against UIC. I would rather the Redbirds not face him in their first game. He is the best pitcher in the ACC. Louisville leading hitter, SS Tyler Fitzgerald, is from Rochester HS.

Louisville was the 1 seed in the ACC tourney. They lost their fist 2 games to 12 seed Boston College and 8 seed Clemson and didn't get out of pool play. Who'd a thought? Obviously Jamar did his research.

It's baseball. Anyone can get hot and win a regional. Anyone can crap the bed and lose.

I like where we are. No pressure!

I have paid a lot of attention to ISU baseball, and a lot of other college baseball. The MVC is a decent conference, but not quite up to ACC, SEC, Pac12 and Big12 level. Another poster mentioned Louisville's ACC tourney - They lost to BC yes - however the BC pitcher, Metzdorf threw a complete game against them. He was 8-2 with a 2.30 ERA on the season (including one win against #3 overall seed GT). That game eliminated Louisville from moving out of pool play, so they had to play a meaningless game (to them) vs. a bubble team in Clemson. Easy to understand how they fell in that one.

I believe that ISU will beat Indiana, as the Big10 is pretty much on the same level as the MVC for the most part in baseball. I just dont have a lot of confidence in ISU's pitching once you get past Headrick. The lack of depth was exposed in the MVC tournament. I am certainly an ISU Fan - but i don't let my biases sway my opinions on how the regional will play out.

Cheers - I will be watching a lot of baseball this weekend.

I've actually watched Louisville and the ACC pretty closely all season as I have a vested interest there. Also - being the #1 seed in the ACC over the course of a 30 game conference season is quite impressive to me. I don't really weigh the ACC tournament too heavily. They also won 43 games against the #4 SOS in the country. Dominant - I say so.

Yes, I agree baseball has more parity than most other sports, however pitching depth will be a factor - and that means the bullpen as well as the starters. I give L'ville a considerable advantage there.

#7 Seed out of the ENTIRE country.... That aint too shabby man!! It's not like theyre in a 7-10 game in the basketball tournament. Hopefully you know how the seedings work...

Saw Detmers pitch several times playing my alma mater, SHG. Kid is a stud. His brother will be starting Saturday vs. Effingham in the sectional championship. Effingham has a kid going to Kentucky, Zach Lee,who is hitting mid 90’s. Hoping to make it out to watch some good baseball before I go to see Cubs/Cards in STL. BASEBALL!

Birds just tied it up. Our pitching will need to step up. It seems Indiana can't play a lick of defense, but can hit bombs.
