Glad he didn't pick U of I. It'll be fun to watch his career from afar instead of 45 minutes up I74.

Talk of reclassifying as 2018 recruit? Already not convinced he’s a high major contributor. IMO, another year of HS would benefit his development. That said, another year of HS would be better served in a program better than Normal West. He probably doesn’t get better at West. I have a feeling Oregon won’t be his last college stop.

PAC 12 will at least give us the opportunity to get Bill Walton’s take on Okoro.

I’ll take Abdou sight unseen over Okoro. Muller scores on the Recruiting trail while Underwood whiffs. Glorious.

I've been saying it all year...Okoro is overrated. I agree with whoever said Oregon won't be his last stop. Okoro isn't even the best high school basketball player in town. I'd much rather have Abdou over Okoro.

:text-+1: #2 player in town. Should've easily average 30/20 last season. Payton seemed to be the biggest player he played against and Payton is 2-3 inches shorter and about 40 pounds lighter.

Give me his height, weight, and general athleticism, and I'm a lottery pick (after 4 years at Illinois State, of course!)

Abdou has a higher ceiling but is much more raw.

...and when have you seen Abdou play to make this statement? I’m excited about Abdou too but I would be the first to admit I have absolutely no knowledge of his skills

At least you came clean! I have not seen him play either. I looked at his EYBL Stats from last year and he averaged a double double which is very Impressive as a junior. That is as good as it gets as respects to playing against big time competition.

I don't know anything about Abdou beside he scored 27+ PPG in half a season at the Nation. My problem with Okoro is his offense versus mostly central Illinois teams. If he put up those kinds of numbers in the Chicago league then that would be one thing but he gets all this publicity and he can't even dominate central Illinois teams. Doesn't bode well. So, give me the raw guy with a 7'3" wing span who has a propensity to dominate. I'd consider 27 PPG dominate (even if it wasn't against top tier teams). Okoro should be scoring 27 versus central Illinois teams. See, I do actually have a reason.

Just looked at the 2018 EYBL stats and Okoro so far averaging an impressive 14 points and 9 rebounds in 12 games. Okoro likely going against at least 1, 2 or 3 players a game that are his height or taller with several players being 5 star so he his certainly doing well against legit competition.

For comparison Payton did play in the first session (4 games) of the EYBL and averaged 4.5 points and 4 rebounds a game but has not played any games since.

That's pretty good for Okoro.

Has Payton been slowed by injury?

No idea on Payton but was thinking the same thing as respects to possibly an injury? Alternatively I heard MeanStreets was loaded up with out of state players this year and sometimes there are not enough shots to be had and some players legitimately look for a better fit or better team chemistry. Maybe that is the case for Payton?

Dudes got a serious problem. I’d post the DM’s he sent me on Twitter a few years ago, but Quinn would have to ban me for language. https://twitter.com/brianneubert/status/996584992011640832?s=21

Yeah man, Roy has really gone off he deep end.

He claimed to be in the know on this one, and completely got burned because he obviously didn't have the inside info.

Then he tells his followers that. It'd be hysterical if it wasn't sad.

I thought it was common knowledge a week or two in advance that he was headed to Oregon.
