Good for him. defense, speed and some pop. he could move quickly through their system.

Gotta think Aeltis and Headrick will be gone in the next few rounds.

With all due respect...Who does Lindgren know in Miami? That guy couldn’t throw a baseball at the broad side of a barn during the Regionals.

Do you think all of them leave ISU with the respective clubs or do some come back and see if they can improve their draft status. It can potentially make a big difference.

Lindgren is a senior, so he's gone.

I'd guess Rave will be gone. I'm not sure on Headrick. He could improve his spot if he came back, but he could also get hurt.

The way Randy put it in the paper it sounds like all 4 juniors will sign. Top 10 picks Holm said should go and with Aeilts Holm told him hes accomplished everything he's needed to do in college. Walker might be the question but I'd guess he's gone as well.

A little under the slot amount. But the fact that he's signed, now he can get to rookie ball or Arizona or where ever KC puts him early and get back to work on his game. But I know with baseball it's a 'pool' so they may need that money on higher or lower level draftee's. And I'm sure his agent knew what last year's 139th draft choice actually signed for and if he's getting good market value for his slot. Still really good money right out of college for your first job. Now off to the Pioneer League or Appalachian League, but who knows could be in Lexington before the season is over.

Fifth Round
138) Orioles: $402,000
139) Royals: $398,000
140) White Sox: $394,300

He must have found out how to hit that barn! ;)

Congrats to Jeff!

Mark Buehrle was drafted in the 38th round of the 1998 draft by the White Sox. You could add his WAR of everyone selected in the 2nd round of that 1998 draft, and MB has a higher career WAR than all of those players combined. Point being, it doesn't matter where you're drafted but where you end up.
