Caitlin Clark is a great player for Iowa. She is a great scorer with unlimited range. They have a big strong center that will be a tough matchup for the Birds.

I'm not aware of any Drake player having long term effects from COVID. Austin Pfyfe from UNI has had a real struggle.

Mary Crompton played AAU ball with Caitlin Clark so maybe there is some information for the Birds to try and slow her down.

My wife talked with family in Iowa after bracket came out( a little smack on UNI win as well) and got an entire game summary on the 2020 Dowling Catholic (Clark) upset by Sioux City East in State Tourney qualifier. Here is an article on it, pretty good read. Behind pay wall, but if you scroll down quickly when it first comes up, you can continue to read and scroll through it even though the subscribe box pops up over the top and the article is shaded, they used “in 2nd half they used a zone & doubled Clark“( sounded like triangle and 2) Sioux City East girls upset Dowling for 5A state berth.

Iowa will have other scoring alternatives, but it’s probably going to take some gimmicks to pull off this upset- One ever 14-16 seed win in history of women’s tourney. Time to make it 2. Iowa expecting sell-out, so it’s going to be a unique atmosphere and Iowa people are usually pretty nice( until they get beat). Nothing better the quieting a big crowd. Go Birds!

Clark gets away with pushing off with her off arm all the time. I'm surprised she doesn't get called for it more often. Three or 4 steps over half court and she is in her range.
