Congrats out to the ISU Redbird Volleyball team on a terrific weekend. I root for sucess for all the ISU sports programs. The "fans" that post here under ex ISU player names have RUINED this board. I know there are a ton of trolls these days, but it really pisses me off they these trolls/fakes are trashing success here with a talented group of young ladies.

I'm a diehard ISU hoops fan, but I am thrilled when other ISU sports programs have national success :clap:

What is your definition of national success? I must have missed these highlights on sports center. No worries I’ll check out a USA TODAY this morning to read up on the redbird volleyball invitational. I’m sure it’ll be front page news over college football and the nfl.

My point here is that volleyball is a sport that is basically an intramural. I’m happy for the young women. Couldn’t tell you who their coach or a single player Is. and I would be in the majority. Place the thread on the appropriate board mr moderator.

Let's make this basketball relevant. I saw practically the whole basketball team sitting in the lower bowl supporting the volleyball team. Hopefully they learned a little bit about how to compete hard and play as a team. Maybe someday they too can play in the NCAA tourney like the ladies did last year, or maybe even take down a nationally ranked Big 10 team. Heck, I'll settle for them just beating the ladies team in the three point shooting contest (unlike last year). Maybe some of the ladies team can teach the guys how to shoot a three?

To be fair it is the most successful sport at ISU. Now that’s mostly because Lyons (and his staff) has destroyed football by not being able to fundraise/upgrade facilities and Muller has tanked the basketball program. I’m just glad Lyons legacy will be those ugly loge seats that destroyed the beauty of the Arena.

Good thing you dont support isu athletics then bc the Loge boxes and lower bowl looks really nice and is more comfortable for fans!!

Exactly, It's actually a slap in the face to these female athletes to lump them into the mens basketball board. They should be shown the respect they deserve and this thread moved to the appropriate spot.

I’ll say this about the Volleyball program. They go play top competition and win. No excuses. It’s nice they got these home matches, but they’ve been taking on good teams wherever they will play them for a while. It’s refreshing compared to the men’s basketball fiasco that Muller has created. Success in college sports is simple. Play good teams and win. Good for Coach Johnson and Volleyball.

Sexists??? Lol I don’t like ravioli, but that doesn’t mean I hate the Italians. That’s a pretty big jump to call people sexists because they aren’t big volleyball fans and want the basketball board to be about basketball.
