2022 data. Show me where you are getting the numbers.

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Agree that extravagant spending may not be the issue but maybe we are not as lean and mean as our competitors/conf mates? It seems we may be a bloated/overstaffed operation as measured by our conference peers. All these $$$s on staff are dollars that could be spent on facilities, better head...

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Dr Beggs: I am looking forward to your response on the previous topic regarding number of varsity sports offered by ISU especially as it relates to the new college landscape and our ability to compete with our conference peers and, more importantly, on a national basis. Further I would also...

    Jerrance Howard

He has deep p5 history so not surprising to me that he is trying to get back up the food chain as fast as possible. He will probably only be there as long as necessary since asu is a weak midland in the p5 .

    Drake’s new head coach…..gulp

The a-10 may not want Drake but there were some wealthy Drake alums in Chicago that were pitching Drake to the various a10 members to determine viability of a move. They did not get too far. Say what you want but that is a fact Jack.

I would have been shocked if they all ended up together at stl. I’d actually be surprised if a couple players ended up in stl.

    MVC Players in 2024 Portal

We got some remaining portal time but to date our out bound portal has me scratching my head. I am not one that is going to say I trust or have faith in Pedon but I will ultimately wait until season results before firmly judging. LETS GO!!

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Some more data to chew on: First number is annual atheltic department revenue for 2022 (NCAA Finances: Revenue & Expenses by School - USA TODAY) and second number is annual rights/licensing: Buffalo. $40,192,000. $4,149,000 W Mich. $39,100,000. $4,494,000 C Mich...

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Btw I am not advocating for downgrading football rather just stating that it seems to make more sense for ISU to do something different than fcs, either up or down. IF we go up/fbs we can likely, over time, increase rights/licensing by anywhere from around a million a year to as much as 3...

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Agree with your last sentence as respects to fcs football. The more I study ISU’s value proposition as respects to FCS football and the related expenses it makes no sense. With scholarship FCS there is virtually little to no upside to the university as respects to a marketing boost from media...

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Agree with your perspective. I thought I would throw all conf teams in there as it shows that, even without the heavy headcount/expensive varsity sport of football, the privates still do not offer as much or more than the number of varsity sports that ISU offers. Depending on which varsity...

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

after getting some feedback here on my various posts I am going to send her a consolidated email. I will share any response. The expenses of ISU athletics seems so challenged compared to peer universities and it would be great to get someinformation.

    MVC Players in 2024 Portal

hard to know the level of pressure until we hear from our permanent ad as to expectations. Will acknowledge this may be a bit premature to say but, at this point, I have a hard time seeing AD Beggs making a change next year if results are not acceptable. Status quo is the easiest to administer.

A letter from AD Beggs on NIL

Dr Beggs: I want to let you know that I agree with you that the athletic landscape has changed dramatically. Besides asking for more donations to support NIL will ISU Athletics being doing anything differently to put our students and coaches in the best situation for success given the changed...

NCAA considering allowing transfers to play immediately - if academic standards met

But they could still transfer, aka leave the team and not play, if unhappy. It seems other universities could be open to entertaining transfers at any point?

NCAA considering allowing transfers to play immediately - if academic standards met

Football/volleyball would not seem to be impacted too much as the sport season is pretty much all played in one semester. Sports that split their playing season across two semesters (aka men’s/women’s basketball) would seem to face some potential transfer chaos. Hopefully the now common nil...

NCAA considering allowing transfers to play immediately - if academic standards met

As an side the legal challenges of college athlete transfer restrictions are being funded in part by lawyers/agents in the entertainment industry that want to open up a whole new lucrative customer base…aka representing student athletes in their contracts negotiations/earnings.

NCAA considering allowing transfers to play immediately - if academic standards met

Disagree with ncaa trying to ruin college athletics. The “ncaa” answers to the member universities. The member universities created the money machine and emphasis being absolutely $$$s. The ncaa as an org is responding to ongoing lawsuits that challenges transfer restrictions of players...
