Having the right mentality going into this game is huge. We have to win with our defense (and not even think about our shooting). We should have an offensive game plan that relies on getting the ball inside and mid-jumpers.
I've seen too many times where teams rely on 3 point shooting to...
I was bummed that Chase was redshirted as well. I agree with your idea of Lieb getting to the free throw line more. Per minutes played, Lieb gets to the line third most on the team. He does have a nice touch there shooting 78%.
If Lieb starts dunking those offensive rebounds or laying them soft off of the glass, fans will be much happier. I'm guessing there weren't many bunnies or dunks against Kofi at practice. Six to Eight weeks from now, I am confident we will see a better offensive player inside.
Transitive Property: If Chicago State > Northwestern and Northwestern > Purdue, then Chicago State > Purdue. I am guessing Chicago State will be ranked #1 this week.
Lieb averaged 1 two-point attempt per game at U of I and 0 three-point attempts in college, so that stat says very little. I don't see Pedon setting up any plays to get Lieb a 3 point shot. I do see situations where it will be advantageous for him to shoot the three. Maybe if it will keep the...
When my kids were younger, I think they were more excited to see the individual players than the actual team. Most fans didn't know who guys like Jackie or Osiris were at the beginning of their first years at ISU, but each year after that their familiarity was a major reason for the...
Dima is a good example where it turned out well. We are talking about 15 years ago. Without researching, I am guessing we have redshirted a large number of freshmen since then, only for them to transfer before their 5th year at ISU. I am at the point I never want to redshirt a kid anymore if...
If all games were general admission and free parking at a first come basis, I can almost assure you we would get more energetic crowds along with better attenance. We all know that this is unfair to the donors, not to mention it being unrealistic financially. Maybe there is some compromise in...
I agree. Have we ever red-shirted a player as a freshman where it turned into a good 5th year? I mean in recent years anyway. It usually seems like a good plan at the time, but a very small percentage of the time it works out.
Thanks. I didn't know if it still was this year. We left the game early and only saw 4 vehicles in the entire lot and I think those were people working at the football stadium.
In the lower bowl from tunnel to tunnel (on the player's side) was between 250 and 300. It looked like there was a good number of students under the basket on the band side.
Also, does anyone know why no one parked in the lot closest to the football field on main street?
This might be an easy question, not sure. Who were the most recent good players that ISU have redshirted as freshmen, that we benefited from their good 5th season?
Pedon's biggest challenge might be getting 11 players to all contribute and buy into their roles this season. If so, this could be a very good team. If not, expect the inconsistency we have seen the last several seasons. I am leaning towards the first option.
If history says anything, most of those teams would be free to play if they allowed all of the teams that got knocked out of the NCAA tournament the first weekend to play.
It is nice being on that list, but I am a little curious why they picked the cut-off where they did.
According to how Lindy ranks the conferences.
7th Mountain West (San Diego State, Boise State, New Mexico)
8th American Athletic( Florida Atlantic, Memphis, North Texas)
9th Atlantic 10 (Dayton...
